I bought the smaller greenhouse. It’s similar to the size of a medium to large dog crate. I’m using it for growing orchids - I live in Minnesota where it’s not only cold in winter, but we’re so far north we have limited hours of sun from Nov to March. This “kit” comes with (1) a PVC frame that comes together pretty easily without tools ( the Amazon photo here helps with assembly) and 2) a full spectrum grow light (LED) with three settings - root growth, leaf growth, or flowering, as well as a timer for 3, 6, or 12 hours, as well as several light intensity settings, and (3) a clear plastic tent that fits over the frame to contain warmth and moisture and keep out curious pets, etc. the plastic tent has two zippers so you can roll up one of the long sides, and a Velcro window on one of the short sides for easy access. It does not come with: 1) a base or a floor. So if you want to create a humid environment for your plants, unless you put this thing in a bathtub you will need to buy a tray or something to capture the water beads. I ended up buying a silicone mat for under sinks that works really well. 2) It does not come with a thermometer or humidity gauge, but I found a small digital humidity gauge on Amazon. 3) It also doesn’t come with a humidifier but I just put 3 or 4 bowls of water in with the plant and that has kept the humidity between 65% and 80% (on the higher end if the water is warm to hot). PROs - this thing has the basics of what you need for a seed starter, or a house plant nurturing system, or even a little orchid greenhouse. I looked at a lot of options - glass terrariums, reptile houses with humidity controls, acrylic boxes to keep humidity in, you name it. Many things just weren’t tall enough for an orchid when in bloom, or they couldn’t accommodate both a light source and humidity. This set up is a great deal for the money. CONs - it’s not too decorative. I would have loved a glass or acrylic terrarium, but this is very practical. I’m also not sure how indestructible the plastic tent will be over long term use. When I go to water my orchid, I actually just lift up the whole frame and put it back when done, rather than using the zippers or Velcro. The frame with tent is very lightweight, so if your cat or dog decides to explore they could easily knock it over. I’m very pleased with the set up so far and feel like I got good value for my investment.

Love my green house. Keeps my plant addictive cat out. Very easy to put together. Dont even need the instructions. Can unzip with one hand. But the velcro sides need booth hands. I don't use the sides. The lights aren't very bright. Which is perfect for me as I have light sensitivity. Multiple light settings. Been raising baby spider plants in it over the winter. And now going to be using it for starting a garden.

This mini greenhouse is a good starter option for indoor gardening, seedlings, herbs, and small tropical plants. It helped me create a controlled humidity environment and worked well for propagation and early plant growth. Assembly was easy, and it paired nicely with grow lights. However, once your collection starts growing, the limitations become noticeable. Space fills up quickly, airflow and humidity require monitoring, and taller plants outgrow the setup fast. It works best for smaller plants and temporary growing stages rather than a long-term larger garden setup. Overall, I think it’s a solid beginner greenhouse and useful for small indoor growing projects, but serious plant lovers will probably want to upgrade to a larger greenhouse eventually.

I purchased a different greenhouse, thinking it was the smallest I could find. Boy was I in for a surprise! It was so big it didn't even fit in the shower! So I went back to the drawing board and found this real mini greenhouse. Right out of the box, it couldn't have been easier to construct. The cover fit perfectly (I did have to make sure all the tubes were completely engaged, though) and it seems to be quite sturdy. The zippers are moving easily and I think the overall quality of the unit is excellent for the price. The grow light appears quite flimsy but I've not yet connected that. The word on the street is that it doesn't last long - only time will tell. October 13, 2025: The plants are in and I have installed the light. Someone commented that the chains are too long so the light hung into the plants. I simply doubled the chain over to shorten it to suit my needs. See pictures below.
