High quality, decent price, good color selection, fast delivery. Happy, happy. I have other RTIC products and they are all high quality and good value. Keep in mind this is a small, personal or couples cooler for a day trip. Rated for 12 cans, but I'm not sure anything else (like ice) would fit in there with 12 cans. It's perfect for what I was looking for, as it sits nicely in a milk crate on the back of my scooter. All the components are high quality as expected. The lid has a lockdown feature when you raise the built in handle. The handle, when folded, nests in a small cutout, so it does not hang beyond the back side of the cooler. Small stowage net stretches along the inside of the lid for keeping small dry items separated from the iced items. Hard shell. Flat top works as a (very) small table. Could probably use it as a seat, too, but haven't tried that one yet. Anyway, lots of nice, small, detail touches that really add to the value of this go-to day cooler. ... show more

I first purchased this 8 qt cooler in the Wilderness color. I liked it so much I purchased another one in White. I love the size, weight, fantastic ice retention and obvious quality of the cooler. There is a problem however that kept me from giving 5 stars. The inside of the lid has a black seal (probably vinyl or silicone) that creates a very good seal...you can feel the suction when you open or close the lid. BUT....the seals keep falling out and have to be pushed back up into the channel that holds them. I considered this a fairly minor annoyance, until yesterday on the White one the lid wouldnt close. Upon examining the lid the rubber seal had come out again. When I tried to replace it the seal was nearly one inch too long. How this happened I have no clue. So, the lid will not close properly. I called the company and told them and we decided the fastest fix was to order another one from Amazon and return the defective one. I asked the RTIC lady if it would be ok to put a couple of drops of super glue on the seals so they do not fall out and she said she did not know if it would be ok. She thanked me for reporting the issue. I believe this is an issue that needs their attention. I still love the coolers in spite of the problem. I would not hesitate to buy another or recommend them. ... show more

Bought this for my daughter it ended up being a little bit too small but it’s still a great cooler. I recommend getting the 16 L cooler for a road trip vehicle cooler

    • Insulation of the 8QT cooler is no where near what is stated.
Color: White & Grey
( With up to 2 inches of closed cell foam insulation) 90% of the lid is 1.025 inches thick, left and right sides at there thickest are 0.90 inches and 90 % of the sides are less than 0.75 inches. front at the thickest is 1.00 inch and goes down to 0.80. the back at the hinge thickest is 1.05 inches and 80% of the back is 0.80 inches . bottom comes in at 0.505 inches. The only part of the cooler that makes it to 2 inches is the gasket lip at 2.185 inches. The youtube reviews of the RTEC coolers showed there larger coolers cut in half and were 2 Inches of impressive closed cell foam with 6 days ice retention time but not this 8qt 12 can one that is listed as having it. Gasket is not staying in grove on lid. When closed and air cools and a vacuum forms and apron opening several times on the lid the gasket sucks out of its grove when opened. As far as ice retention time of 40 hrs at noon of the next day it was gone. ... show more
