The quality of the trumpet is very good and the action of the valves is also very good and quiet. The tone is quite good considering the size and is mellower than a standard trumpet. The fit of the mouthpiece is slightly wobbly on the trumpet but this can be corrected by using tape on the mouthpiece. For the price I paid, I am satisfied I made a good buy. The chrome job looks very well and should be lasting. The electronic Tuner/Metronome works very well and is a good bonus item and is quite useful. The white gloves are a good addition. Overall I recommend this item as a second trumpet and is a very good looking trumpet. It is relatively heavy, probably due to the chrome finish.

This product is very helpful for practicing at home and when I received it it came with almost everything that it said it came with but the only two things that didn't come with it were the stand and the trumpet book, I mean those two things aren't really important, it plays really well but I would still like the stand for it.

I gave this three stars because top-tier quality isn't to be expected at this price-point. The instrument isn't consistently in-tune throughout different harmonics and registers. When I first got the instrument, the valves were loud and scratchy, but I assume they just needed to be broken in. The biggest problem I had was that my personal mouthpieces didn't fit. They would fall right out. I assume that this is just a fluke, but it speaks to their quality control and apparent "play testing". The stand also came broken. In conclusion, it's not extremely terrible for the price, and, if the mouthpiece problem is a fluke, it may be worth it for novelty/lamp factor alone.

Wow! Despite some really bad reviews I took a risk...and was WELL rewarded! No sticky valves. Period - ever! Played great out of the box! I played it briefly upon delivery without having oiled it, despite clear instruction to the contrary, just to test "worst-case". Oil did improve the action, but then I didnt oil it again for several dozen hours of playing, at which time I noticed first valve slightly slower in response from 2 & 3. Oil (included) quickly solved that. Looks awesome. Fantastic as a practice horn. Has a nice "warm" cornet sound. Great for small, I door venues. I went to a #3 mouthpiece that seems to allow me to sharpen the tone better when needed. This horn noticeably UNDERPERFORMES when you want loud, in-your-face-high-brass, like playing with my son's high school pep band at a game! At "full throat" I felt like I had 1/2 the volume I should have. The included stand works just fine for folk who didn't fail basic physics. Just remember that the centerline of the bell is NOT the weight center of the horn! Position the horn weight over one of the feet or...yeah...unsupported weight falls over. One thing, and I'm surprised I didn't read about this in the reviews.... The tuning slide is on the opposite end of the horn. Normally it's in the front and that nice u-bend at the back of the horn near the mouthpiece makes a nice carrying handle. On this horn, that is the tuning slide. Attempt to hold the horn by that and the slide pulls out and you drop the horn. Fortunately I was seated when I discovered this and the horn dropped the last 3 inches onto it's stand. Which caught it without falling over. No dings or scratches. Just a minor heart attack for me!

This item was purchased for my daughter, a high school freshman who's been playing trumpet for 4 years. It sounds exactly like her standard sized trumpet, if not better! I was amazed at the quality of the workmanship and material used in the production. I didn't expect it to be as nice as it is given the price. It comes with a fabulous hard case, which was another pleasant surprise!! This is excellent as a second trumpet to practice with at home so she doesn't have to haul her other trumpet home every day. I ordered the silver as I have read that the color chips off the various colored instruments. You wont be sorry if you decide to purchase this quality instrument!!

The trumpet cannot be played in my school band. But I have already another trumpet. The pocket trumpet sounds nice and is actually quite heavier than I expected. I highly recommend Mendini as they have a whole variety of good cheap instruments for usually under $200. Buying an instrument at a store can cost usually around $2000 or more. My little tin friend is perfect and cheap! I like my pocket trumpet and the case with it is very easy to carry around.

Well designed, but (sometimes) poorly produced/quality-checked. The trumpet sounds very well, and seems to be made of good-quality materials. However, my first one had sticking valves (especially #3), and I had to return it. The second one happened to be of good quality. I see others complaining of the valves, so my case cannot be an isolated one.

This was purchased as a birthday gift for my daughter and she LOVES it. She calls it "Baby Trumpet" and it truly does look like a baby trumpet. Don't let the size fool you though...it has big sound! It arrived in a box with that made the contents obvious, so take note if you are planning to have this left on your porch of front stoop. Inside, it is well packaged in it's own carrying case and has everything you need to care for it, even gloves. We love the portable nature of this and the novelty too. It is a really good buy for a trumpet player that is comfortable with a full sized instrument or an experienced player that just wants a fun, easy to transport instrument.
