Nice trumpet, could be the better one made in China. For the money a good value for a starter trumpet. A little heavy to hold for kids starting out. For a come back player a good value for the little money it sells for.

    • Pretty good.
So far the trumpet has served me well. I did have some valve sticking but it was remedied with cleaning and valve oil. The trumpet looks good and sounds good. It's on par with my Yamaha YTR-4335. I had a ton of valve problems with the Yamaha. So far so good with the Singers Day. Only time will tell if I'll be completely satisfied. ... show more

    • A Beautiful Quality Trumpet
This is a striking looking trumpet. It plays very well. The sound is less brassy than most horns ( rather mellow ), but like all trumpets the sound is very mouthpiece dependent. The case is elegant. Over-all, quite a bargain.

Transparent Review from a College Level Trumpet player: TLDR: This is a fantastic horn for either beginners, old players looking to get back in, and advanced players looking for something to beat around on for a very reasonable price. I've played on several horns throughout my career of varying prices from my own Yamaha YTR-2320 which is a fantastic beginner horn, one of my favorites, to a Bach Stradivarius and Yamaha Xeno. This horn performs right in the middle of the pack for a great beginner price! This horn is arguably better than some intermediate Yamaha horns and Bach horns. You've got to try it out and compare it. It plays fairly freely but its not super free where back pressure is non-existent. It can belt out upper register notes with ease while playing with a very round and mellow sound. Build: It's built with a rose brass bell with thick brass tubing all around which makes the horn perform with a more mellow than a sharp sound. If you've ever listened to a marching band trumpet that is a sharp sound whereas someone like Wynton Marsalis has a very mellow sound when he plays. That is the sound that this trumpet will produce over a regular lacquer brass trumpet. The mouthpiece receiver is a lot bigger than a regular trumpet too and this also contributes to the mellow sound. The Top and Bottom valve caps are designed to be heavy style caps. The valves on this trumpet are pretty alright. They have good compression and good action. However, there is a bit of spring ping stock this can likely be solved with a little bit of grease on the spring. The valves themselves are a bit "scratchy" in a sense but I think this may simply be a break-in thing as the more you play the more the material will wear down leaving you with smoother valves. The slides on this trumpet are also fairly alright. They are not greased from the factory and will come completely dry. You will need to apply grease and oil on yourself to get them working. Really, I find the only cons of this horn is that it doesn't include any real things you need to start out on, such as slide grease and valve oil. You will have to buy that stuff yourself. The mouthpiece that comes with it is as generic as it can be being a 7C size. Since this is a cheap Chinese horn, there will be some manufacturing defects and scratches/imperfections. Most of the time, they do not affect the actual performance of the horn. If they do just contact Singer's Day. Overall, I think this horn will work great for the average beginner student. I personally would've loved to start out on this horn as a young middle schooler. It has great looks that will catch the eyes of others while playing very well for a cheap horn. It is a bit heavier than a regular trumpet weighing in at 2.57 lbs compared to the regular 2~2.15 lbs. For a more advanced/intermediate/returning player, this horn would work great if you were on a budget. If you are not then look to more advanced horns starting from $800 and up. I known this hron though Trent Hamilton review video. I was very surprised how great the horn sounds! It's really a great trumpet for the beginners or intermediate! The case come with the trumpet really nice!!! This horn plays like a pro horn but with affordable price. Strongly recommended!
