Seems like a well made shoe unfortunately the sizing is not correct . I wear a size 9 in every other shoe in these I could probably get by with an 8 - 8 1/2 .I should have returned them but I wore them outside to see if maybe they would feel better with the extra room , not really I guess I will have to wear thicker socks . I got these men’s orthopedic mid tracking hiking boots with ankle support for my son whose job keeps him on his feet for 12 hours a day. He likes to have really comfortable shoes to wear when he can because being on his feet so much also affects his knees and his back. So I was happy to hear that he really likes these shoes! The orthotic cushioning and gel pads help to keep his feet from hurting while keeping his body in alignment, thus his knee and back pain are virtually gone. These shoes are constructed well and have a lot of support support and cushioning, which makes them really comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They are also very light and breathable so they’re comfortable to wear even when it’s warm outside, so his feet stay dry and not sweaty all day. The insole does give support (I have low arches). Perhaps a little bit too much support. After taking them out for a trial run on a shopping trip, afterwards, my feet did not hurt (but my default shoe brand, without insoles, accomplishes that too), but I haven't put them back on since a little bit because they are bulky and the weather is hot but mostly because the insoles feel less like they were cradling my feet gently, and more like they were holding them up through force of structure. If I had not gotten these as a review sample, I would return them; however, I am still giving them four stars because they seem well made and I am sure they will work well for someone.

My son is very picky about his shoes, probably because he has wide feet and high arches. This has led to him not liking most hiking shoes and instead he'll wear his tennis shoes on trails, which I don't like. We live in the PNW. It's raining and muddy here 9 months of of the year. He destroyed a pair of his regular shoes in mud. I was nervous to have him try these on and for him to dislike yet another pair of boots, but he likes these. Great arch support, and they came with an extra pair of insoles. Wide toe box. Which is especially important because if shoes are tight at all across the top of his foot, he won't wear them. I was waiting with bated breath for him to tell me if they fit him well, and was so relieved that they did. Time to hit the trails!

These shoes really impressed me! Hands down the most comfortable pair I’ve used for hiking, long walks, and even daily wear. I felt a huge difference in how my feet felt from the very first use. The cushioning is great, the arch support feels solid, and the heel area gives that extra comfort you need after walking for hours. I went half a size up from what I normally wear, and the fit was perfect! I usually wear a size 10 and got a 10.5. So if you like your shoes to have a bit more room like I do, I definitely recommend sizing up half a size. The ankle support is also excellent, and the grip on the sole holds up really well on slippery or uneven terrain. I even wore them in the rain, and my feet stayed dry the whole time. They’re lightweight, durable, and breathable too. If you’re on your feet a lot and need something that gives real support and comfort, these are definitely worth it. I’ve been using them nonstop and absolutely loving them!
