First, I'm pretty handy and like to assemble/fix things myself. But my wife still had to help me on just the last steps of assembly. Unless you are stubborn like me, you should have at least 2 persons to assemble this! Just follow the instructions and take your time. It took me about 6hrs on a very hot day! If I had to do a second one on a nice day with my wife's help, it would take no more than 2hrs. It literally took just as much time to unwrap the parts and read the instructions, as it did for actual assembly! Once assembled and anchored properly at the base, it is very sturdy and heavy (~300 lbs?). The included screen and gray curtain did not come with instructions, so it took some trial and error to figure out. The 4 panel curtains attach at the top like shower curtains, and zip together to each other. After checking the curtain ties and velcro straps, it looks like the solid curtain is designed to be on the outside, which protects the screen better, but did not work for us. We wanted the screen on the outside full time, so we can open and close the solid curtain from the inside as needed. Because of this switch, the ties did not attach to the poles as well as it could have been. Also, it is not bug proof since there are gaps above the screen curtain, and of course if you open the roof slats. Overall we are happy with the design and structure, but could've been better IMO.

We leave by the woods and this was a must buy this summer and let me tell you , so far we looooove it. 2 people assembled it. Took them 3 hrs. We get a lot of wind over here too so this has hold up pretty well . Doesn’t move . Love the curtains , they are very nice . Planning to add a fun and lights inside . Very happy with the purchase

This pergola is a great addition to our deck. It was a pain to figure out the instructions to assemble. Seller was great to work with when we got 2 of the same part, but had to have correct part shipped. Made in China & shipped via FedEx ground delivered 2 of 5 boxes to the wrong address(what a headache this created)
