  • Expect a few minor issues, overall good enough
UPDATE: We just went through hurricane Ian (we live south of Sarasota)! Our entire gazebo is still intact and zero damage! We did secure all curtains with duct tape to the legs of the gazebo at the middle and bottom, and now I am REALLY grateful for spending the extra time to secure and seal in each panel (we chose to use FLEX SEAL). And below I explain we raised our gazebo 15 inches, but secured them into the ground and then sealed that with concrete. Just know that two of us were able to lift the entire gazebo after being built so consider if or how you'll need to weigh this down. The boxes arrived separately as explained, the framework first, roof panels second. Everything is labeled with a little sticker (evil little boogers you have to carefully pull off as you build) and wrapped in a single layer of saran wrap, so EXPECT some dings and possible breakage (I had several small dings, but nothing major). I counted every piece, even screws and bolts, since other reviews said they were missing pieces. I had all my pieces! The directions were fine for us, but if you need really explicit directions, you may not want this kit. It's more "look and learn" from drawings. You probably won't reach it all with just step ladder unless you're pretty tall, food for thought. Our first problem was attaching the brace bars to the corners, the bolts just spun inside the threaded hole. We ended up sealing all 8 brackets with some aluminum bonding stuff from Amazon and it's working well enough. In someone's video we watched they thankfully advised us to put on the curtain clips before putting those beams together...TAKE THAT ADVICE! on the 10x12 gazebo it is 12 clips (6 each half of one beam) on the long side for EACH set of curtains and 10 clips (5 each half of one beam) on the short side for EACH set of curtains (there's 2 tracks, one for mosquito net another for solid curtain. So total of 24 on long side and 20 on short times 2 sides, 88 hooks total). The braces that support the roof panels are ridiculous. Some of them barely set on there and are floppy and others you have to really fight to attach them. I do not understand why they did not make these more secure with screws or snapping connectors like they did for the roof peak. I can always go back and seal them in I guess, or you can secure them however you choose before installing the roof panels. Now the roof...oi vey...you have to take off the film on both sides of every panel, which takes time. Also labeling them after is a good idea, post its or whatever. Again, we chose to seal the panels in to make sure it didn't leak anywhere, just put a bead in each track before sliding it in. This made the installation 5 times more time consuming, but worth it for us. Have a flathead screwdriver handy for bending open the tracks because the securing bar that keeps it in place also has to slide in between that track that holds the panel. You'll know what I mean when you see it. Now that the gazebo is all together, time to attach the curtains...but there is no indicator where to start. I ended up putting up one curtain halfway around and finding out I started on the wrong side, meaning my first curtain I started in the middle of the short 10 foot side of the gazebo. So start the solid curtain in the middle of the 12 foot beam and go around, and you should have 6 clips to corner, 5 clips on half the short beam, next 5 clips on other half of short beam to corner, then last 6 clips to middle of long beam. Then do it over for the other curtains, all the same. We ended up raising our gazebo another 15 inches to go just above our house roof line and gutters with concrete footers we made. In Florida we are definitely worried about high winds from time to time so of course our curtains don't reach the ground, but I happen to also have knowledge in upholstery and sewing and I can remedy that, but thankfully there are already securing velcro straps on each corner pole at the top middle and bottom already on the curtains, super helpful and a big plus. Downside to the curtains, their span is just short when using the velcro meaning the zippers do not completely reach the bottom. I do like the gazebo so far but it's only been a couple weeks, heavy rainfall but not terrible winds yet, it's holding up beautifully, no leaks and not wobbling or creaking. All in all it's good for our purposes. Just be aware that each gazebo WILL have it's minor issues and you'll need to figure out solutions to complete this project. ... show more

  • Very DO able
Material Type: Green Aluminum Composite Roof Size: 12'x16'
Many complaints on this Gazebo about directions and assembly. Hubby and I put this together alone, we didn't need a 12 foot ladder, we used 2 kitchen foot stools. You need to have some common sense. The roof was a breeze to build, the tracks hold the part in place and you use a broom handle to lift it slightly while the person pushing it into to place gently pushes. So far, we love it. We have it anchored to our concrete slab and put our new hot tub under it. We will sit and wait to see how the gazebo holds up to the weather! ... show more

  • Single person build possible
Material Type: Black-gray Aluminum Composite Roof Size: 12'x16'
Pros: Good packaging, straight forward directions, easy to assemble, parts clearly identified, good quality. Cons: Could use a rain gutter (have seen some that run rainwater through legs) No bug screen in roof area, Received all four boxes on time (kinda, FedEx issue not sellers). Sorted them out and found each part, including hardware, were all bubble wrapped and labeled with stickers indicating part to match with assembly instructions. Had tools (don't use them unless you have no choice) but a 1/4 drive 10mm socket, rachet and 2" extension were easier to use. Never figured out what the yellow handle "screw driver" did. Built it over several mornings before work by myself. Did have wife help hold one leg up while I attached frame piece and help again to put the roof on. Otherwise look ahead at the instructions and you can do it alone if need be. Took just shy of 8 hours (opening of boxes to tying back the last piece of the screen). A few helpers and you'd be done under 4 hours. Everything went well but be careful pulling the protective paper off the roof panels. I actually pulled the wrong part and messed up a panel. Its way at the top and unless you know to look it's hard to see. Bought 100' string of XMcosy LED lights that run through an App. No good way to hang them on the frame and did not want to screw into metal. Did a test run using black zip ties and that seems work. Will get a piece of wire channel to double side tape to a leg to hide the power cord. Screen seems nice though with no screen at the double roof bugs could still get inside. The solid curtain blows around in the wind if using it as a sun block so be careful. Otherwise, we think it was money well spent. ... show more

  • Exactly as advertised
I was very pleased with the ease which I was able to assemble the gazebo (alone). All parts were clearly labelled and instructions were generally quite clear and complete. The only issue I had with the instructions was exactly how to hang the curtains and netting. For future assemblers: the closed zippers go on the short sides, unzip[ped ones on the long sides, the clips hang on the inside of the curtains and the outside of the netting. Also, one assembly tip: when installing the roof panels and retaining rails, use duct tape across the roof panels to hold them in place until you are ready to install the rails (otherwise you'll need at least 4 hands). And they do mean it when they tell you not to tighten bolts until near the end. The corner braces in particular want to draw things together to make them square when installed - I had to go back and loosen things to get them on. I can't speak to durablility, as I've just completed the install, but everything seems very solid, and it is certainly an attractive gazebo. Excellent product.! ... show more

  • Hardtop Gazebo
Material Type: Black-gray Aluminum Composite Roof Size: 12'x16'
Bought this gazebo for our sons deck. The directions were easy to follow. It took 3 of us about 2 1/2 days to finish it and it provides much shade for the summer. Very sturdy. We love it.
