First, I'm pretty handy and like to assemble/fix things myself. But my wife still had to help me on just the last steps of assembly. Unless you are stubborn like me, you should have at least 2 persons to assemble this! Just follow the instructions and take your time. It took me about 6hrs on a very hot day! If I had to do a second one on a nice day with my wife's help, it would take no more than 2hrs. It literally took just as much time to unwrap the parts and read the instructions, as it did for actual assembly! Once assembled and anchored properly at the base, it is very sturdy and heavy (~300 lbs?). The included screen and gray curtain did not come with instructions, so it took some trial and error to figure out. The 4 panel curtains attach at the top like shower curtains, and zip together to each other. After checking the curtain ties and velcro straps, it looks like the solid curtain is designed to be on the outside, which protects the screen better, but did not work for us. We wanted the screen on the outside full time, so we can open and close the solid curtain from the inside as needed. Because of this switch, the ties did not attach to the poles as well as it could have been. Also, it is not bug proof since there are gaps above the screen curtain, and of course if you open the roof slats. Overall we are happy with the design and structure, but could've been better IMO. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Fantastic customer service. Contacted me every few days with an update on shipment (freight). Had a few minor items that were damaged that I am waiting to hear from the company to replace. They were minor and based on their customer service so far I am not worried. My wife and I assembled this ourselves just the 2 of us. We did build it in 1/2 vs entire 12x16. Also I painted all the SS screws black with automotive touch up paint because I was not a fan of the silver. I also added smoked light channels and led strip lights to the gutters along with a power strip. This mostly was due to the fact LED strip lights don’t stay in place in the direct sun. I did not use their large concrete anchors for my pavers instead I went with tapcons. Overall this has yet to leak a drop on our patio set. Making it very easy so we don’t have to carry the cushions inside everytime we are done with them. We do live in NYS and I have no doubt in the winter if I open the louvers there will not be an issue with snow buildup. As an engineer I am impressed with how well its built for the money. An American made product similar to this with 1/8” wall extruded aluminum is about 25-35k. Not $3599. We’re talking a factor of 10x more here. Overall this is a nice product and yes $3599 seems expensive but it really is not. We also had pretty high wind gusts around 35mph and I have yet to see a problem. Snow load, won’t do it. 2500lbs is about a few inches at best. Leave the louvers open in the winter if your in a snow belt area. ... show more

This pergola is a great addition to our deck. It was a pain to figure out the instructions to assemble. Seller was great to work with when we got 2 of the same part, but had to have correct part shipped. Made in China & shipped via FedEx ground delivered 2 of 5 boxes to the wrong address(what a headache this created) ... show more

It's great to be able to open and close the roof shutters. The nets and rain gutters are awesome. Easy assembly thanks to some Youtube videos and detailed instruction in the book. The slight minuses are damages to some parts - dents in the gutter and square base since one of the boxes wasn't securely packaged. It was delivered with the box half open. Also several holes were not aligned so we were not able to screw in the bolts. But overall it's a great pergola! ... show more

We leave by the woods and this was a must buy this summer and let me tell you , so far we looooove it. 2 people assembled it. Took them 3 hrs. We get a lot of wind over here too so this has hold up pretty well . Doesn’t move . Love the curtains , they are very nice . Planning to add a fun and lights inside .
