Really liking this lens. The first thing you notice when pulling it out of the box is the weight to it. Love the all metal build and it feels nice and solid in your hand. I like how when mounted to your camera, it adds a little bit of extra heft to it, which helps with micro jitters when filming handheld. You can get lenses that are sharper than this one, but not for the price! It renders colors well and is plenty sharp when shooting wide open for my taste. This is a great lens to have in your kit especially when filming in low light or nighttime conditions as the f0.95 is a life saver! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For less than $260 bucks, I got a super fast 35mm f0.95 wide angle lens. This is not really a pan-cake size lens, but it is truly small for its huge aperture. It worked great with my Panasonic Lumix G9, depiste manual focus. Both focus ring and aperture ring were pretty smooth to operate, I did not feel any frictions while I rotated the rings. Even full open at 0.95, I still was impressed by its sharpness, despite extremly shallow DOF. At this aperture, some photos may appear a green-ish outline in large contrast areas. I shot a series of photos with my sunglasses in my garage, only the overhead recess lights from all directions. I captured all the way from f0.95 to f16 with the same setting, same lighting conditions. I was extremly safisfied with the bokeh the larger apertures i.e. f0.95, f1.2 or even f1.4 has delivered. remember this is just a 35mm wide angle lens. As I manually narrowed its apertures, the pictures started to become grainier and grainier all the way from f4, f8 anf f16. This displayed another huge advantage of fast lenses: cleanner picture. In f4-f16 pictures, I observed more and more clear background, and less bokeh. These photos started to become familiar as these are usually what I see in those pictures shot with a normal 35mm lens.
