I enjoy putting Legos together but have not had too much opportunity. As my birthday is coming up soon, I decided to treat myself to a Lego set. As I have always been fascinated by the story of the Titanic, I was delighted to find this kit, which is quite detailed. However, it is also quite expensive. When I asked my husband whether he thought I should buy this, his reply was do you really want it? Then he also said we can afford it and you have gone through some terrible times in the last two years and I think you really deserve it. I have spent the better part of two years in three separate stays in a rehab facility after 4 surgeries involving a failed knee replacement, resulting in a crippled existence. While I have not yet completed this model, the joy I am having while putting it together has been worth every cent. Finished!!! Love it…just fits on my piano! Kind of attention getter! ... show more

When I was first wanting this model, I was seeing it only available only through 2 sites. The lego website was out of stock so I only was able to get it on Amazon. Ever since I got it the price has already rose to another $100. Thank goodness I got it before the price rose. The model is the best that I have ever seen. It took me 4 days, from when I was awake, till I went to bed. The instructions can be a bit difficult to read and go through, I did get lost a couple of times, especially when I used the wrong piece, or I forgot a piece. I did have a slight problem with some pieces, they were in the wrong parts of sections, it scared me because I thought it wasn't in the package. Overall, I really loved putting this together, as well as putting it up for display. I will say its worth getting, its just the price seems to change a bit quickly. It's actually a bit hard to find a spot for it were it can not be nocked over and break. ... show more

    • So what is next Lego?
This one sure looked like fun for he recipient of the gift. It took the better part of a week to put it together in spare time. Now we need more projects like this Lego. Where is that 10,000 piece project? No more of these 3000 piece projects. Lets get more like this, 9,000 pieces and up!

It was quite a joy to build this Lego set. It's much bigger than I imagined. The model can be split into 3 sections showing the various decks, furniture, engines, and other accessories. It's definitely worth the cost. I also installed a lighting kit from several different choices.

    • Fantastic build for a child with Cancer!
The media could not be loaded. This was a great project for my son who has cancer. It helped him get through his beginning process and made time go by so quickly. He is amazing at building Legos and can do it in the blink of an eye. I highly recommend this to anyone.
