Short version: The cutest kit I've seen. Good polish with a great brush & very giftable. Colors not too far off from product page. Opacity: The opacity of the solid colors is good. With 2 to 3 thin coats of the colors, I get really good coverage. With the 2 glitter polishes, it depends. If you apply them over a solid color, one or 2 thin coats are lovely. Without a base color, I had to use 3 coats & the coverage was a bit uneven-looking. I prefer using these over a base color - unless I want really muted sparkle effect. Drying time: These dried well (and I have a cheaper lamp) with at least 60 seconds for each coat. I did 90 seconds twice just because I did a thick top coat. The glitters do need (IMO) a thicker top coat or at least a double top coat so that you don't feel the sparkles. Colors: The darkest red is much too light for my darker skin. It has an orange-red tinge with 1 or 2 coats. With 3 coats, it gets better but it really is not a deep red. I applied the red glitter over it & it is deeper but nowhere near the brick-ish red shown. I do like it though and might apply it over a black polish for a better effect without the glitter polish. The glitter colors are nice but I might try thinning them out. As is, I can feel the glitter through the top coat. I could double up on top coat but... Nah. The silver glitter is much lighter than the red or gold glitter. As I mentioned, unless going for a more subtle effect, use it over a base color. I did not try the white or the lighter red. I will save those for use with some tape to do designs maybe. I might use the white underneath the glitters. The Brush: I love that the brush is contained in the handle. I did soften the bristles by soaking and flexing in some alcohol beforehand. The bristles are shaped VERY nicely for painting nails. I am HORRIBLE, especially when using my non-dominant hand & I managed to do a pretty neat job. The Kit Overall: This is super cute. The packaging is great & makes packing the kit for travel easy. Also, for this price, this is a great buy & it would make a really cute stocking stuffer/gift. The only thing I didn't like is that I probably won't ever use 2 of the colors - the white or light red/orange. Also, I had to double down on the dark red to get a true red. I love how the colors are temperatures sensitive. I can be cold and my nails are full on pink, when I warm up they go pink ombre , when in hot water they turn white. It is so fun.. People do a double take, it is so fun . Like I said I WILL be getting more of this. Can't wait to find more colors.. Lasts forever..Very easy to stay within the lines. Bought these for my wife and the bottles are much smaller than I expected. Each one is maybe half an ouce of polish. I was worried about this as the description did not offer much information on the size and quantities. It just said 5.5oz package. Other than that, they hit all the right buttons. Beetles quality is good but just too small in size! I’d prefer these in larger options. This Set looks like a small sample box. Very small quantity. Beautiful colors though. I recommend the product based on that

These were great! I posted a picture as well since whoever last reviewed isn't very good at painting their nails... these are thick like any other gel color.. you determine how much paint you leave on the brush when you're working so if it comes out bad no offense it's not the colors... it's you. They are beautiful and I can't wait to use them all March long!!! ... show more

As someone that was in the industry when gel polish was first released, it never ceases to amaze me how far the technology has come and how affordable it is to do your own nails at home. The price of this blew my mind, even if they are minis but that speaks more to my lack of keeping up with the market than anything else. Such a great starter set! The colors are beautiful, easy-to-use and pretty accurately shown on the labels. I love that you get a matte top coat as well as a glossy one. The matte top is great quality, I was mostly surprised by this. Great pigment and color payoff. The only downside is I find it a bit difficult to control using the wand from the bottles but this is a preference, I think.
