I typically buy Sensationail brand gel polishes since I have the Sensationail starter kit with LED light, however they are much more expensive (about $9 per bottle vs about $1 per bottle, granted these bottles are smaller but I don't mind) and I wanted to try a different brand to save money. PROS - * I got the Pastel Paradise set. I was pleasantly surprised to see the cute packacking and the awesome caddy the polishes come in. All the colors were labeled with a color sticker on top which is very convenient. * The bottles are the same size as the smaller Sensational polishes so I didn't think they were too small, especially for the price. They're barely more than $1 each ... * I got full coverage with 2 coats of color. With Sensationail I always have to do 3 coats. * Because the polish is so thick, it doesn't pull away at the tips of your nails and has a very evenly opaque application. * I was able to get a nice looking mani pedi by following the provided instructions. However, 2 steps I didn't see listed that I always follow are to wipe your nails with a lint free cloth and alcohol to clean them after buffing and shaping them, and then use a gel primer on each nail. So I added these steps. CONS - * The polish is so thick. It feels goopy, kind of like regular polish that is getting dried out. That makes it difficult to apply thin coats and also difficult to apply it neatly without going on your skin. Sensationail polish is much thinner and easier to apply. * The colors in the product description and the color on the top of the bottle do not match the actual color of the polish. As you can see from my photos, my nails are a slightly different color than the bottle. Also the colors in the description seem much brighter than in real life. However they are still very pretty shades. I just used this polish for the first time today so I can't speak to how long it lasts, however it seems very durable so far. Overall I really like this set and would recommend it. You cannot beat the price for so many beautiful colors. ----- UPDATE after 1 week of wear - the polish chipped much more easily than Sensational brand and I only got 1 week of use versus the 2 weeks I expect from a gel polish. I'm going to try again with a set of firmer, smaller tipped nail art brushes I bought for this purpose. I think the problem was the large brushes that come with these bottles do not allow you to get the corners and tips of the nails well enough & also don't allow you to apply a thin coat. I think this will be much more successful and will update again if I have any issues.

I wanted to start creating my own press on nails because I got bored of what store brand nails were available. Initially after some research I hesitated from purchasing beetles but decided to take a chance and im so glad I did. I had never done gel nails before, so a few hours of research went into application and making sure I was making everything as safe as they can be. I used colors from both the Pastel Paradise set and the Glitter line - Treasures on Tip set. This is two coats of each pastel. The Glitter nail I used 1 coat of pastel as a base and two coats of glitter. I didnt find either set difficult to work with, the polish is thick but easily spread, the glitter takes a bit of a learning curve as you have to pack it on the nail without letting the coat get too thick. I found swiping the nail and then patting the nail gently to fill in gaps worked best. I used a 220w uv led lamp to cure and cured each coat for 3 minutes at a minimum. I could have possibly used less time but didnt want to risk exposure to uncured gel polish. The colors are pretty opaque, 2 thin coats and theyre solid. Its definitely going to be a learning curve, especially working out optimal cure times with my lamp, but for a first ever set, I'm pretty happy with my results. I used Kiss Kiss Coffin Long full cover nails and the nail stickers and rhinestones all came from Amazon. Just a note, the Pastel set bottles are VERY small BUT theres easily enough in each bottle to do 20+ 2 coat manicures, so dont let that put you off.

I would very much so recommend this product! I used to go to the salon with friends just to get gel nail polish because it was the cheapest but considering this kit was cheap and now I can get multiple uses out of it makes me regret spending all that money at salons for something so simple. I will say that it takes practice and a steady hand to be able to make them look good. The picture I uploaded was the first time I ever used the gel nail polish and it was a bit rough but I think it turned out pretty good. Before getting the result of this pic, I painted my hand before this but had to take all of them off because I couldn’t peel the edges around my nail off without taking the entire slab of paint off. This polish isn’t like regular polish wear you can pick it off in the shower. For gel polish, you have to clean the nail up while doing it before you cure the polish. Something I did wrong was putting wayyy too much polish on. That’s where I ran into the problem of not being able to clean up the sides of my fingers because it just keep sliding off, even after I had cured it for 120 seconds. This product only needs two or three thin layers depending on how sheer you make the layers. This product is very easy to remove and most of the time I just wait for one to be easy to rip off and then I do that to the rest. If the polish isn’t easy to remove and I can’t peel them off, I just buff the top and then soak it in acetone to remove the product. My nails usually last a week and a couple of days but I also go to school so I’m always digging in my bag and messing with things that loosen up the edges of the polish on my nails. Another problem I ran into was the way my thumb would lay underneath my UV lamp and how the polish would drip down the side and make the nail look like a weird shape. I fixed this by only doing my thumb first and then doing my other fingers at the same time. It adds extra to putting the layer down, curing it, putting the polish in two or three times and curing that, and then putting the top coat on and curing it but it makes the result much better. I recommend this to someone who is okay with messing up because the product will not always be perfect but it is handy compared to using normal polish that chips or spending $40-50 at a salon every time you want gel polish on your nails.

I love beetles gel polish: easy to work with, long lasting and great price. Was trying to find a softer set of colors and these are so cute! Little tip to save you time in the future: Make a paper swatch, cure it and tape it to the side of your box. Makes picking a color much easier, especially if it’s not your only beetles box. I like to make a gradient by pushing in the middle and letting more collect on the edges so you I gauge how many coats I want. My only criticism is that the set comes out sideways so you have to take the whole stand out rather than just peep inside and grab what you need. Makes a big difference and would be an easy packaging fix. Extra points for including a base coat, top coat and matte top coat in the set so you don’t have to purchase them separately. Shipping was literally next day for me, so big thanks to the seller.

I love these! I also love that you get the option to have it be shiny or mat. I wanted to have cute Easter nails and this was perfect for that. They last for about 2 weeks unless you have a more hand wash demanding job. I bartend in the summer and we wash our hands all the time so I doubt it’ll last for two weeks at that point. I am very happy with my purchase.

k so i i’m kinda new to the nail world so not super experienced here, but i have mixed feelings. the colors are adorable and the sticker on the bottle is an exact match to how the polish looks on your nails, which obvi is great. it’s not too lumpy and i LOVE how it comes with top and bottom coats, and a matte top coat. i also totally got away with just one coat of color on my nails, with a few touch ups here and there, which rocks because with other polish you have to do one layer then uv and another and uv and a third and your finally ready for the top coat, but not with this! super vibrant color with one ish layer! i do feel that it’s a little runny, like when i apply one stroke it kind of flows into my cuticle and on my skin, which makes it not look very clean. also the bottles are very small which did not show in the pictures.
