My husband broke his hip, has trouble with being steady and this is perfect to get into and out of bed withoout obstructing his easy access to the bed. I looked at several dif bed rails and read the reviews and this item is the BEST ..so easy to insert under the mattress right out of the package easy to snap into place..a win win! He uses it to steady himself getting out of bed and he is not obstructed by anything in his way getting into bed..just the best idea in the world this little bed rail.

I ordered this for my elderly parent who has balance & stability problems along with a long history of falls. Ensuring safety now is vital as my parent is becoming more frail & safety awareness is declining rapidly. The bedrail itself was easy to assemble & place. It seems to be an appropriate piece of equipment & seems stable once placed properly. The vertical component is not too cumbersome, but presents a stable handhold for an individual with high fall risk & poor safety awareness & a strong aversion to using assistive devices. Seems well designed. The flattened frame that fits under the mattress seems to be well thought out for comfort & stability.

We bought this for my father. We had tried other styles but they all needed a strap to wrap around the mattress to hold the handle in place. They did not work with the mattress set up my parents have. This does have a strap if you want to add it on. We did not. We got this, snapped it together, and while one person lifted the mattress, another person slipped it under. Probably a total of five minutes of work from start to finish. My father said it is one of the most beneficial assistive devices he uses. Well worth the money. Sturdy and very well made!

Arrived and put to immediate use. Assembly consisted of popping in the handle. That's it! I first thought the handle was secured with pop locks. Turned out to be pins that go completely through the frame. These aren't going to slip! I slid the rail under the mattress and found it completely solid without using the supplied straps. In short, it's not moving. I will say that my mattress is very heavy, but one reason I bought this model was specifically the design of the under-mattress frame, which is one piece as well as wider and flatter than most. The handle is long and high enough to use easily and small enough not to get in the way of using the side table. I really didn't think the pocket would be very useful, but it wound up being a good place to keep the TV remote. Definitely recommended.

This bed rail is perfect for our needs. It does not take up excessive room, provides the assistance needed for getting in and out of bed but is also enough to prevent most falls. I installed this by myself (I'm small and was recovering from an illness at the time) -- I slid it between our memory foam mattress and the bed frame with no tie downs. It has proven to be stable enough for my 200 pound husband. We haven't had a use for the attached "bag" but it is very easy to remove and would be very handy for someone confined to bed.
