This is a great quality Ethernet cord, BUT... "Cover"/protector tab makes it extremely difficult to remove from whatever it is connected to. I don't recommend this style with the "cover tab", especially if you are using it on something you will have to be disconnecting frequently (like modem, router, or anything that has to be "reset"). I'm not sure why you need it to begin with? Maybe protects the port from dust or something? Who knows. I rated 3 stars for "value" because I think other cables (without cover) were less expensive, and since I'm finding the cover to be a pain in the ..., it's not worth spending the extra dough.     • Plugged it in and it worked, what else is there to say?
This cable was one of the less expensive ones on Amazon but performs like the most expensive. It worked fine in my application but does have one shortcoming other reviewers have noted. The anti-snag arm extends more than normal above and beyond the plastic clip that holds the cable in place. On my laptop this arm had to bend so the cable would click into place. Since it's rubber this is not a problem but in more crowded situations this may be a problem. There needs to be at least 1/8 - 1/4 inch of clearance above the plastic "click arm" in order for this not to be a problem. This is the case with every Ethernet port I've plugged into except for one where the Ethernet port was recessed. On this particular setup you had to use a small flat blade screwdriver to release the plastic clip to get a regular cable out. Do not take this as a criticism of this cable. Any Ethernet port where you can use your finger to release the cable should be fine. It is in the cramped and crowded situations where trouble may arise. If so, you can snip off the snag guard if need be as I can['t imagine any other snag guard not having the same problem. ... show more

I noticed a difference when I bought this: 1. Downloading games have been quicker than my old ethernet 2. upload speeds were a bit better compared to cat5e 3. Before I had so many issues with my games losing connection and so far I have no issues with it now, thank god. That's pretty much it from a guy who uses my pc most of my day. ... show more

    • As good as big box stores but at half the price.
Works perfectly. We have a crummy Comcast modem/wifi router that works fine if you're within 5 feet of it. However if you move 5.5 feet from it you can't even stream youtube without constant buffering. Since the modem is located in the living room on one end of the house, the signal is almost non existent in the bedroom at the other end Hard lined this into the modem and strung it out along the ceiling to the middle of the house and dropped it down next to a wall socket. plugged this into a NETGEAR Wireless Router - N300 (WNR2000) chose to run it as it's own router and boom now we have Wi-Fi coverage through the whole house. Also there was zero speed loss with this cable. When hard lined into my Xbox 1 it was pulling all 50mbs that we get from Comcast. This is the second Mediabridge product we have purchased. First being a 50ft Coax cable, and both times they have come through with flying colors. ... show more

    • Now I get streaming services on my TV!
I have an older TV that's supposed to connect to WiFi, but it doesn't work. So, when I want to watch Netflix or Amazon or other streaming services on that TV, I plug this cable into my TV on one end & my router on the other end, and voila! - streaming works! So far there doesn't seem to be any problem with quality. I really wasn't sure what kind of cable to get for this, so I'm glad I chose the right one, and that it works. ... show more

    • Bought to back up sketchy Wi-Fi! Durable enough inside. Recommend.
I purchased this Ethernet cord for a sketchy Wi-Fi in my home. If the Wi-Fi crashes, I have this to use. The cable seems durable enough for interior use. I aim to run it along inside for a quick hook up. Later, maybe, I may run it through the walls or up in the attic for permanent use. I tried it to ensure it works first and it does. I don't like the new cover they have over to protect the clip. You have to push it back to access the clip to remove it from the computer. Other than that, this will do the job that it is intended to do without issues. You certainly can't beat the price for under ten dollars for fifty feet of light weight Ethernet cord. Just don't expect heavy duty cord and you'll be satisfied. ... show more
