This pad fits perfectly on my 2nd gen Nissan frontier. The straps are sturdy, the padding is more than sufficient, the panel that slides to cover/uncover the backup camera is clutch. I can fit at least 5 29er mountain bikes on it comfortably. They do not slide around and the tires do not touch any uncovered parts of my tailgate/rear end. It is pricey but if you’re going the tailgate pad route this one is definitely worth the money.

I have not had the opportunity to test this on a long-distance trip yet, but based on my current experience, it appears to be a solid option for short trips around town. For the price, it serves as a good starter pad for transporting one bike. However, I’m uncertain if I would rely on it for longer journeys. It does effectively cover the tailgate for a single bike, but I wouldn’t recommend it for hauling two larger bikes—though it could be possible with some adjustments. One area that could be improved is the top bike strap, which isn’t long enough to accommodate thicker frames or e-bikes like mine. I had to use an additional strap to make it work. Overall, given the affordable price point, I would likely purchase it again, but I would appreciate improvements to the strap length to better accommodate a variety of bike frames, especially with the increasing popularity of thicker designs.

I highly recommend bike pad. The padding is high quality and protects my bikes and truck really well. A huge bonus is the foam is removable, so my camper shell easily closes. It was also super easy to install and secure my bikes with the strap system…really well thought out design. Great fit for my Ford Lightning!

This didn’t really work out for our e-bikes. It does say it’s for mountain bikes, and for those I think it would work better. You do have to completely undo the straps and wrap them around the tailgate. There is no clasp, which would be helpful. When we got the bikes up there, we quickly realized this wouldn’t work well for ours. My bike has a fender and this has the tire sticking out straight, rather than turned to the side like we have to do. So, when we did this, this wasn’t going to work. We took it off, turned it the long way and put the bike back on without securing the mat. It was fine because the bike was holding it on the tailgate. It was still better than the packing blanket we were folding and using. This didn’t get in the way of the reverse camera and it still protected the truck. I think it would work well with a mountain bike or any bike without a fender. It would work better with my e-bike if it was the only bike in the bed.

This bike holder works great. Easy to install. Made very well, and fits my Santa Cruz tailgate perfectly. The material is very durable and will last a very long time. The manufacture even thought out a simple way so that your backup camera and the tailgate handle work, when it is installed.

This small tailgate pad can fit one bike comfortably. You can fit up to two bikes. This is perfect for me as I usually transport one mountain bike. It's well padded and the good thing is it doesn't take alot of space. Def protects my tailgate paint from paint damages/scratches.

It is impossible to strap the bikes on with the tires facing out like the pictures all show. But once we figured out which way to turn the front tires it holds the bikes very steady. They don't move when we are driving. My biggest beef is that the buckles are darn near impossible to get at because they are so far down in the cushion on top. The straps that hold the buckles are way too short. After using it several times, one of the buckles has already broken off.
