I use this adapter to store my bike hitch when not on the Jeep. This is way nicer than leaning it against the wall. It installs with three lag bolts and comes with a pin.

    • Works fine with my KUAT NV Base 2.0, but DO NOT use bike rack's tightening mechanism
Works great and probably pretty universal. My Kuat NV Base 2.0 fits fine, it's a little loose fitting and I wish the rack pin hole was closer to the wall. Also DO NOT try to use the NV racks tightening mechanism for storage because you will press the little ball out of the rack (like I did) due to the small size of the rack and large size of the mount. I was able to replace the ball with a little help from a hammer. ... show more

I've got a hitch-mount bicycle rack and a hitch-mount luggage rack that we use infrequently, but enough to not throw them out. However, all the rest of the time, they're bulky and awkward to store. This mount is perfect for both. The biggest victory was putting the bicycle rack behind a person-door in my garage, nearly "disappearing" it even with the bike rack "arms" up toward the ceiling and fully out of the way. (And the trunk of the bike rack actually also serves as a door-stop.) For the luggage tray I'm going to have to get a second one. Whereas I had been hanging this on the side of the house, it's been unsightly and not well protected. With this mount, I can "install" the rack above an out-of-the-way utility closet in a breeze-way and it will serve double-duty as a shelf for an icechest. Installation is simple and solid. I got this for my smaller garage. I have some wall space off the ground and installed this into a stud. Then added my "fold down" bike carrier for my car's trailer hitch. It wasn't so tall that I have to fold it down to get the bike on and off. Once I added my bike (heavier than most) it was up and out of the way with space underneath to store things.
