  • Safe and Easy Bike Storage
Size: Classic rack
Placing the bike vertically takes up less space. You can also store the bike horizontally, for short-term storage. It is very convenient. Note: If you are going to store your bike vertically long-term, I would anchor the bike rack to the wall for extra safety. The rack is very stable on its own, but anchor it anyway. ... show more

  • Great Product - Bit of a Nightmare to Assemble
Size: Upgrade rack
Although the product is really nice, the box arrived with the plastic bag of nuts and bolts torn open with pieces all over the inside of the box and caught in nocks and crannies of the other pieces of the stand. Moreover, the assembly instructions were poorly written and so tiny I had to take a picture on my phone, send to my laptop to enlarge and then reprint. ... show more

  • A challenge for hanging my cruiser
Size: Classic rack
I bought two of these types of bike stands. This was the more expensive of the 2, but doesn't hold my bike as well. It's not really designed to hold cruisers, but I managed to make it work. It's of good quality, and the instructions were fairly easy to follow. My other bike stand (bought on eBay), didn't have any instructions and poor support from the seller. The material the other stand was made of was also much thinner and had a lower quality feel to it, but it did hold my bike better. If you have a mountain bike, this stand will work well and you will be happy with the quality. With my cruiser, the cheaper stand worked better. ... show more

  • Does its job
Size: Classic rack
It's holding my bike like a champ on day 5 It's not quite 'one size fits all' because it's not a telescopic support. There's hole A or hole B to use for various heights, though the wheel support on the bottom does slide so A+ there. The fact that it's so thin on the support has me a bit concerned but there doesn't seem to be any concerning wobbliness so okay ... show more

  • It works. Not the most stable, but it does stand on its own.
Size: Old rack
It works. Not hard to assemble. Instructions are not great but it’s pretty self-explanatory. Stands on its own.

  • Cheap material and will break
Size: Classic rack
Initially I had success with the stand and it fit my needs. It was a little less stable than I would have liked but as long as I didn’t bump into it - it was fine. This lasted a little over a month when after normal use it started dropping at the top and leaning to one side. I didn’t think much of it but though it might be good to tighten the bolts on the vertical arm - come to find out the vertical arm had torn and it is no longer usable. This was a shock to me because there was no impact or acute situation that would have caused the break - it seems that just having my bike on the rack as it was designed was too much stress for the material. I think for $50 a thicker material could be used for the vertical arm given it is the key component of this stand. If you plan on using this for a while - I can’t say I’d recommend this stand. ... show more

  • Solid product
Size: Old rack
I had looked at several vertical bike stands and decided to take a chance on this one, despite some of the negative reviews. I've owned it for several weeks now and it's a worthwhile investment for anyone trying to minimize the amount of space a bike takes up. The steel tubing is very solid. Unless someone was really trying to do damage to it, it definitely won't have any issues such as bending, etc. It's also well balanced. I have mine sitting on fluffy carpet with a mountain bike inserted. I've bumped it on occasion and I've never felt like it's going to tip over. The tire saddles are easy to adjust and fit my bike just fine. The piece that holds the front wheel in place has a rubber-like material on it, and it grips the front will nicely. It is a little awkward to mount the first time because of needing to adjust the rotation of the front wheel to align with the gripper. Initially I thought that the gripper should be aligned to grip the front wheel on the side closest to the bike frame. This led to the bike stand being slightly unstable because the front wheel was able to shift and turn. Once I positioned the gripper to be on the side furthest away from the bike frame, the instability disappeared. The construction is simple enough, but, like others have mentioned, the instructions are a little vague. This is particularly true when it comes to the lock washers. They're not mentioned in the instructions, but if I remember correctly they are shown in the diagrams. Either way, make sure that each screw has a lock washer on it when assembling. There should be 10 altogether and there are 10 screws, so it's kind of a 1+1 = 2 situation. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and would definitely buy another should the need arise. It's well balanced and well constructed, and I have no complaints regarding it's functionality. ... show more
