Overall I'm very pleased with this shelf. It took a little bit of time to put together because I found the directions a bit vague and I had to redo a couple of parts but it wasn't hard. It took less than an hour. The anchor that came with screws for attaching it to the wall was a joke. It went right through the drywall and I'm very comfortable and familiar with I stalling these. I have many times. I gave up trying to use the cheap one that came with it and instead still the bracket over so I could place it on a stud. Now I know the shelf is securely attached to the wall. Very important with this style of shelf especially with young children around. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.

The shelf was mostly fine except that all the shelf pieces don't line up in the back, leaving you to guess the angle it should be placed against the wall. (Yes, I did check that I had the shelf pieces oriented correctly & assembled in the correct order. I even measured. They just aren't flush in the back by design.) I also had 2 bolts that wouldn't screw all the way into their provided holes, which must have been drilled incorrectly. I could have lived with both of those things, but I was missing the plastic leg caps that go on the top and bottom of the side bars - the support pieces that lean against the wall. I ordered two shelves, one had end caps and the other didn't. When I tried to request replacement end caps, the seller told me the item ships directly from Amazon warehouse, and they have no control over the items or the parts or how they are packaged and sent me to Amazon support. Amazon support said the item is provided by the seller, and they couldn't do anything but have me return the whole item for replacement or refund, which was way more trouble than it's worth for a couple of plastic leg caps. This shelf is best for people who like things a little wonky, enjoy gambling, or have A LOT of time in their day to accommodate this nonsense.

The metal sides, and the wood shelves are nice quality, but the holes in the metal, aren’t even-there seems to be poor quality control. Thankfully Amazon refunded us. I would not recommend buying this bookcase!
