I got this product because I wanted to make smash burgers, and it works great. First, I like that this is wider than most burger presses, so it's big enough to make a nice sized smash burger. Second, I also love that it's made of cast iron, so it's very easy to keep clean. I primarily use cast iron pans as well, so cleaning this is a breeze. I never use soap; just warm water and a dedicated sponge I use for cast iron that never has soap on it. It's also easy to re-season if necessary. Third, since I use this on the heat, I wanted something with a safe handle so I wouldn't accidentally get burned. Because of the width and how this handle is designed, it's very safe to hold and use without touching the hot metal. Finally, with the non-stick of the cast iron and the ridges, I've found that it easily lifts off the burger without sticking. Basically this does everything I wanted. The only issue I've had is when you lift it off the meat, a lot of fat drips off. Even when I hold it on its side over the pan for the grease to drip off, there's still grease on it. So I use a plate to place the burger press down while flipping and removing burgers from the pan. Overall, I highly recommend this if you're looking for a great burger press.

Used the bacon press today and it works fine. Makes flat crisp bacon. I suspect these are 'seconds' as they have imperfections but it does not affect the use, just looks. Mine has imperfections on the top. Others have reported flaws on the top and bottom. The instructions on how to season the bacon press are very short. I researched 'seasoning cast iron' on the internet. Following those steps I have no rust... yet.

I use to cook bacon in the oven because I don’t like the clean up mess after cooking it. But then I had the chore of cleaning a large baking sheet. With this, I cut the bacon in half before frying. I can get half a pound of bacon in the 10” sauté pan, put the bacon press on the bacon, and fry it with no grease splatter. Some of the bacon will curl after turning. I just put the press on the curl bacon and finish frying it. It comes out flat and crisp. And I have no mess. Liked it so much that I bought one for my son.

Make sure you season this press according to the directions! This bacon press fits perfectly in my 8 1/2 inch cast iron pan. It's heavy and perfectly pressed the bacon for a complete cook on both sides (after you turn the bacon).
