I was in a car accident on Christmas Eve that broke 3 ribs that are slightly displaced. They don't do anything for broken ribs but send you home with pain meds and directions to be careful. I have found I can't sleep in a bed or our motorized reclining couch without pain, not to mention trying to stand up, I had to keep waking my husband up to help me up. Nights were horrid. So after trying everything else I could think of, I went hunting for a lift chair and after lots of research ordered this one. I wanted lift, dual motor, lay flat, heat and massage were a bonus. I also wanted an adjustable head rest because alot of recliners push my head forward causing neck aches. After sorting through lots of options I found this one, I am 5'6, about 260 lbs. It was ordered Friday and arrived Monday in 2 boxes. One box is very heavy and will require a hand truck or you can open it and carry pieces separate. Very easy to get into desired location because of the separate pieces. My husband assembled in around 45 minutes. First, the head piece does not push my head forward but a small pillow is helpful. The padding is FIRM. I like that but some might not. My bruised up back needed a pillow back there. The heat and massage are nice, the heat is very comforting to my bruised up back. My favorite thing and excellent for someone with broken ribs or post surgery? When you hit the button for the foot rest it sort of lifts up the chair and leans the whole thing slightly back while keeping your body stationary (except raising your feet) So there is no pain from the recline (why our electric recline couch was a problem, it felt like it was pulling on my ribs) I think they call that tv mode but I find it very comfortable to sleep. From there you can recline the back as you wish or not. Then when you want to get up the home button returns everything upright and you can use the lift to boost you up. I wish I had this chair from the get go, it would have saved me alot of pain. Very well designed for someone needing help with mobility or recovery.

I just got it put together today and I love it! I haven’t used the heat feature yet so I can’t speak on that but everything else works great. Lumbar support, sturdy and it sits up so high I don’t even need the lift but I tried it and it’s perfect. I bought it to assist me with my new knees because I couldn’t get up comfortably with my old chair. Definitely recommend. If I have issues down the road, l’ll readdress it later. Update! I've practically been living in this chair. Finally used the heater option and everything is WONDERFUL! Highly recommend!

I would have given this 5 stars but took a little longer than expected to put it together because the track the arm slides into on the right side was bent and would not let it slide down all the way. Would buy this chair again if needed. It is perfect size for a small area.

**Updated Review** With every product there can be issues. That’s true even with the most reputable (and expensive) products. I’ve had a couple of issues with the chair’s electronics, but MCombo’s customer support has come through each time. The chair is comfortable; it provides a much-needed function; and the manufacturer has been outstanding in supporting their product. Rather than simply return the chair, they assisted in figuring out what the issue was and readily supplied the necessary components to resolve my issues. It’s a very comfortable reclining chair at an affordable price. Customer Support has been VERY good. I’m happy to upgrade my review of this product due to the level of support. Because the leg lift arms in the front of the chair were partially extended, I was unable to find ANY shipper in my area that could (or would) build out a custom sized box to return the chair. MCombo - for their part - are trying to work with me. They messaged me with several questions designed to try and narrow down why the chair stopped working, and are sending me a new power cord and remote to see if that will get things running again. I reckon if that doesn't do it they'll make some other offer or send additional parts in order to avoid a loss on this sale. This seems like a reasonable course of action on the part of a third-party seller, so - despite my severe physical limitations at the moment - I'm more than willing to unplug a couple of cords to try the new parts. Updating my stars based on seller response. This is an updated review where I'm lowering my original review to a single star. Why? The chair mechanisms simply died. We can tell there is power going TO the chair (the LED on the cord is lit), but the chair suddenly died while lifting the leg pad. Both remotes have no electricity, so no component of the chair will function. Not capable of troubleshooting the issue and fixing, so the chair is being shipped back. Sadly, the shipping container will not hold the chair as it's partially unfolded, so won't fit the box. What a pain in the behind! I needed this chair because I just had open heart surgery and have to be SO very careful about how I stand up. I had to have a buddy put it together for me as I am unable to lift anything heavier than 10 pounds. Now I have to ask my friend to take the thing apart and cart it back to the UPS store and pay them to make a special size box for this chair. No idea how much extra THAT's going to cost me to return a defective product.

The chair reclines to an uncomfortable position automatically when the feet are up. There is no way to adjust that recline despite the fact that the back and feet move independently. I tried to return the chair. The seller accepted my return, but had since written me twice, trying to get me to accept a partial refund. First, they started with $150, now they want to refund half. The chair was delivered ahead of time but on a day when it was raining and I was not home. The original boxes were destroyed from the rain, but the chair itself was fine. Even though I’ve offered to package it, they are arguing that they can’t accept it without the original box. This was after they approved my return. I’ve reported them to Amazon for their business practices and will consider legal options. I’ll never make the mistake of buying anything that expensive on Amazon again.
