29 March, 2026 Hiccups and screwups I hated having to purchase a chair like this; after a life of physical activity and constant movement, finding myself in a place where physical activity - even using my arms to push up to stand could put me back in a world of hurt caused some pretty morbid moods. But...we move on, right? Onward and upward. Hiccups I've used this chair extensively on a daily basis during these past months. Other than what I've commented on previously, there are a couple of new things to comment on that may help guide your buying decision. - the chair creaks and groans a bit now as the lifting mechanism works. I found this to simply be a need for lubrication. Spray lubricant resolved nearly all of the noises. - the main remote became un-synched. The remote has a "home" button. Pressing this button normally sends the chair into its fully retracted state, but it began being slightly less than fully retracted and eventually began sending the chair into the full leg pad up position. The rest of the buttons worked normally. Interestingly, I was able to use Amazon's AI Rufus to - from the product page - extract the exact steps needed to reset the remote so that everything works normally again. Screwups I accidentally managed to insert the main remote into a glass of iced tea. Twice. The remote began going crazy, moving the chair in random movements. Thankfully, no damage to the chairs electronic control unit, and vigorously shaking out the liquid and letting things dry out was all that was needed to return to normal operation. And yet, through all that, the chair remains VERY comfortable, the padding as firm as the day it was new, and the upholstery still looking great. **Updated Review** With every product there can be issues. That’s true even with the most reputable (and expensive) products. I’ve had a couple of issues with the chair’s electronics, but MCombo’s customer support has come through each time. The chair is comfortable; it provides a much-needed function; and the manufacturer has been outstanding in supporting their product. Rather than simply return the chair, they assisted in figuring out what the issue was and readily supplied the necessary components to resolve my issues. It’s a very comfortable reclining chair at an affordable price. Customer Support has been VERY good. I’m happy to upgrade my review of this product due to the level of support. Because the leg lift arms in the front of the chair were partially extended, I was unable to find ANY shipper in my area that could (or would) build out a custom sized box to return the chair. MCombo - for their part - are trying to work with me. They messaged me with several questions designed to try and narrow down why the chair stopped working, and are sending me a new power cord and remote to see if that will get things running again. I reckon if that doesn't do it they'll make some other offer or send additional parts in order to avoid a loss on this sale. This seems like a reasonable course of action on the part of a third-party seller, so - despite my severe physical limitations at the moment - I'm more than willing to unplug a couple of cords to try the new parts. Updating my stars based on seller response. This is an updated review where I'm lowering my original review to a single star. Why? The chair mechanisms simply died. We can tell there is power going TO the chair (the LED on the cord is lit), but the chair suddenly died while lifting the leg pad. Both remotes have no electricity, so no component of the chair will function. Not capable of troubleshooting the issue and fixing, so the chair is being shipped back. Sadly, the shipping container will not hold the chair as it's partially unfolded, so won't fit the box. What a pain in the behind! I needed this chair because I just had open heart surgery and have to be SO very careful about how I stand up. I had to have a buddy put it together for me as I am unable to lift anything heavier than 10 pounds. Now I have to ask my friend to take the thing apart and cart it back to the UPS store and pay them to make a special size box for this chair. No idea how much extra THAT's going to cost me to return a defective product. ... show more

    • Poor design, horrible customer service
The chair reclines to an uncomfortable position automatically when the feet are up. There is no way to adjust that recline despite the fact that the back and feet move independently. I tried to return the chair. The seller accepted my return, but had since written me twice, trying to get me to accept a partial refund. First, they started with $150, now they want to refund half. The chair was delivered ahead of time but on a day when it was raining and I was not home. The original boxes were destroyed from the rain, but the chair itself was fine. Even though I’ve offered to package it, they are arguing that they can’t accept it without the original box. This was after they approved my return. I’ve reported them to Amazon for their business practices and will consider legal options. I’ll never make the mistake of buying anything that expensive on Amazon again. ... show more

After initially receiving only two parts of the first order over a week's time. The first purchase was refunded. I then repurchased and ALL 3 pieces arrived quickly and all at one time.
