  • Questionable build quality; not great reception
This is the fourth yagi antenna I've installed on several houses in the past few years. I live in the mountains and I got this to help me get some OTA channels to supplement what I get from streaming services. When I moved into the house, the previous owner left a cheapo antenna behind, perched in a tree, so I bought this to properly install on the side of the gable end and keep it partly protected from snow. The reception seems to really vary depending on weather, and since the line of sight across a lake (but also through some trees) to xmitter sites is only about 17 miles, don't believe the range specs for the antenna. For the first week, reception was solid, but I lost about half of the sixteen channels within two weeks and the loss has been persistent, even with re-scanning and re-checking the azimuth orientation. Also, the antenna rods that you need to install fit VERY loosely in the plastic mount, and I had three fall out due to wind. The solution for this is to ream the bottom of the tubes so that they fit more tightly in the mounting holes. Still, I'm getting an RCA yagi antenna to replace this. I need some reliable reception to be able to see local news, particularly the weather. ... show more

  • Excellent Product
I was somewhat concerned that this 3 foot long antenna could do what I needed. I was replacing a very expensive rooftop antenna that was approx 10 ft long and about 8 to 9 Ft long on the longest reflector element. My present antenna would often lose my 2 favorite stations NBC and CBS here in Tucson Az. I could get 23 other channels. Hooked up this new antenna, ran the program to search for channels and received 41 of them, including NBC and CBS. I am approx 40 miles from transmitters with mountains in between. I get excellent reception on all those channels. Will now dispose of the box it was shipped in as I was worried this smaller unit might not do the job. It works great. Also very easy to install. ... show more

  • Installed in Attic
I installed in the attic and connected it to a fire recast. I get every channel flawlessly, event during storms. I replaced an indoor flat antenna that that did not get every channel. This one is far more superb. I highly recommend it.

  • Kicks butt!
Easy assembly, install is the same. I mounted the antenna to the pipe supplied and then used a couple of hose clamps to mount the pipe on a full length of half inch thinwall steel conduit, mounting the conduit a few feet up on the side of a four by four cemented in the ground with four feet of the wood above ground. and there have been zero wind or movement issues. We haven't had any blustery days since then so I will report back if that is ever a problem. I bought the booster that is highly recommended for this antenna. I got the antenna installed for my friend, scanned the channels... we live next door to each other and I have an outdoor directional power boosted antenna myself a couple years older... the best at the time. She is getting 59 channels...19 more channels than me!!! Plus.... I pointed it west for the specific channels she wanted... the ones I don't/can't get... AND she still gets the channels to the north east I aim for. The TV used is a much older Samsung Digital TV (of course) non Smart-TV. AND I FORGOT TO INSTALL THE POWER BOOSTER! (the booster has reviews galore that I am assured of it being legit, mine makes all the difference... it is nearly mind boggling thinking about how much better the coverage can get when installed... either that or she is already getting every channel around to be had. Nor Cal, East Bay, Oakley) She gets all the SF channels and all the Sacramento stations as well. I'll report back when the booster is installed to update. I frankly find it hard to believe it can get any better. Only thing to keep in mind when assembling is the the aluminum pieces that make up the antenna are lightweight and can be bent easily if mishandled, accident or not paying attention... also check/make sure all the pieces are aligned correctly before mounting it... but be careful bending any other pieces back into place because you can over bend them easily creasing the metal, just be careful assembling and you have nothing to worry about. I'm a retired IT engineer and have had to do my share of AV support... this guy is truly a plain, simple and impressive winner. ... show more

  • anaheim hills
I hooked it up in Anaheim hills about level to the peak of my roof. It gets channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, and 13 perfectly. Channel 11 is hard to get. I am buying a longer mast approx. 15' which I think will pull in channel 11. It gets all kinds of channels. I am only interested in the above

  • Strength of pulling in the channels for the small size
I bought this, because of previous reviews, but when I received it, I honestly wasn't to sure about it. It was pretty small or should say short in length, compared to some of the older style antennas. I work in the streaming business, so it was important to check on streams for quality. I had two other employees state that thing isn't going to pull in anything and I responded with, "lets just give it a try" We pulled in, CLEARLY 8 more channels than on the older style antenna for a total of 35, we were really pleased and surprised. I will be honest we did have to use an amplifier, we had to point this through two power lines and without the amp the signal wasn't as strong, but this was due to the power lines that we had to shoot through.I'm not sure about the distance of the reception, because most out stations are within 50 miles from us. I would, recommend this to anyone, I have no skin in the game and am not being ask to do this! ... show more

  • Works Exactly As Expected
This little antenna tuned 60+ crystal clear channels - while laying on top of the garbage bin! Once I properly installed and pointed it, the signal strength only improved - with some broadcast stations giving a full 5 bars on my Roku TV. I hijacked the cable box on the outside of the house and plugged the antenna directly into the house coaxial and it tunes on both TV's perfectly. I ditched my satellite provider and subscribed to a streaming service for $35 - not keeping Dish for $80 a month. This antenna tunes the 'local channels' your cable or satellite TV provider charges you up $12 a month for. ... show more
