  • Best Magnet Mount CB Radio Antenna Ever!
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I just installed mine into my truck. Working with a stock A.M./SSB radio I got a perfect 1:1 SWR ratio. My first contacts were a local truck driver on ch.19 for a radio check. Then I talked skip on side band to Texas and California which are both thousands of miles away. Love this antenna!

  • So far so good
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I installed it on my Honda CRV 2015. Yes it does look a little bulky because the whip that comes with it is about 5.2 feet long so yes my SUV looks like the DeLorean from back to the future but the antenna reaches very far. Yes, the antenna does have a coil inside, which technically it is 5.2 feet but with the coil it works as if you had an 8.2 feet antenna approximately ... show more

  • The PL259 is wierd, but other than that, it is perfect.
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I've been doing CB radio since the 1980s, just refreshing my tech with a new radio, and a new radio deserves a fresh antenna... This is my first Wilson antenna in all those years. I have used 102" whips, Predator 10-K, Firestik, and even a lowly Realistic mag mount. As the title says, the PL259 is a bit odd, it comes apart to allow easy pass through for firewalls and whatnot. Something I have never seen in any other antenna setup. A good idea, but when you screw the part the cable is in, you need to be careful to STOP before you push the insulator too far out and the ground shield cannot make contact. However if you assemble it right... I installed mine on my Nissan Pathfinder, simply inserted the stinger in the base and bottomed it out, locked down the set screws, dropped it dead center on the roof, routed the cable through the back door, hid the cable through the trim all the way to the radio. Used my SWR meter on the radio to test. 1.0 on channel 1, 1.1 on channel 40. Verified with a stand alone SWR meter, same results. Magnet mount is REALLY strong, no worries at all about it coming loose. On the contrary could prove to be a bit of a problem going through the car wash as I need to take the antenna down before I go through. Plays skip with the best of them, making QSOs from Rhode Island to Southern California. Once the sun goes down and skip fades off local comm is excellent. It's no 102 whip, but I would put it up against a K40 or Predator 10-K any day of the week. Not going to run added power through it, so don't care about the power handling capacity, and certainly don't need the added the Wilson 5000 has. I never thought I would like a magnet mount CB antenna, and every experience with them prior to this has reinforced that idea. But I did NOT want to drill holes in this car. Especially since I am not 100% sure I want to keep it much longer. I figured this antenna would allow me to squeak by until my regular rig is done at the mechanics. Well, I actually really like this antenna. Enough to make me consider taking the 102" off the bumper of my pickup and roof mounting this antenna once it is ready for me to starting driving it regularly again... ... show more

  • Great antenna!

I got this antenna on advice from a friend. It is so worth the money!!! Crystal clear Tx/Rx from more than 5 miles away! It does look weird on top of my Xterra, but I got used to it.

  • Perfectly tuned right out of the box
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This antenna replaced a smaller competitor's model of magnet CB antenna, and I'm happy with the upgrade. I now have 3x the range in both reception and transmission than I had before, without having to change a thing on my CB. The whip is the exact length needed to get a perfect 1:1 SWR reading across all 40 channels, so no tuning was needed. A friend has the same model and he experienced the same perfect tuning results when he installed his. The whip is tall, handles the wind at highway speeds, and flexes good under low branches. I wouldn't go under a branch that came within a foot of the base, though. The magnet is very strong so you don't have to worry about this antenna going anywhere unless you forget to remove it before going into your garage! I have this antenna installed on my Tacoma, and I ran the cable down between the back of the cab and the truck bed, up through a grommet under the truck, and right under my seat to the center console where my CB is installed. This way I don't ever need to remove the magnet base. To remove the coil/whip assembly, simply unscrew it from the magnet base and place the protective plastic cap on the top of the magnet to protect the connection. Easy removal for entry into parking garages or tight low-clearance areas without having to bring the entire antenna and mount down off of your roof. Well worth the money. If you're deciding between this model and a Lil Wil, get this larger antenna and you'll be pleased that you did. Just make sure to always correctly tune your antenna with an SWR meter and know what you're doing, otherwise take it to a CB shop and let them do it. SWR meters are about $19 everywhere, and the instructions are very simple. A tuned antenna will ensure you don't damage your CB. Enjoy! ... show more

  • product not working
Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Everything looked good but upon testing it out I found that the base and coax were shorted out. When connecting an ohm meter to the center pin of the coax and the barrel of the BNC connector on the magnetic base there was continuity. Therefor the antenna would not tune and is not usable. The antenna was also missing one of the allen screws for the whip. As I unbox the antenna it had the appearance that it had been opened before. I questioned whether this was a reconditioned antenna. I don't know the answer to that. Upon reporting this to Amazon they informed me that I would have to send it back to 'UnbeatableSales' since they were the seller. Upon contacting them they said they could only give a refund and could not send another antenna out and could not repair the defective one. This whole process has taken over 20 days to resolve. UnbeatableSales has worked with me tirelessly and all credit goes to them for their effort. However, I personally feel that if you purchase a product from Amazon THEY should be the one to honor the sale and, if necessary, any returns for defective merchandise. ... show more
