I purchased this antenna after trying a similar setup that a friend and fellow Ham owns. Right out of the package I was able to tune the antenna up to a 1.2/1 SWR on 20 meters with the coil slider and start making contacts on FT8. This antenna replaces an end-fed wire antenna that was underperforming for me in the field. Compared to the end-fed I can hear more stations, and they can hear me better. Plus setup and tear down in the field are much faster than dealing with wires in trees… I have not tried this little antenna on other bands yet, but its performance on 20m alone is enough to make me happy with my purchase. ... show more

When I first opened it out of the bag. Quality was pretty good w/ the exception of the telescopic part of the antenna. Use care when lowering and extending it. Ease of use: it is possible to tune the antenna without an antenna analyzer, but you need to know what you are doing. I did it a few times, but I used an antenna analyzer mostly b/c the antenna can be finicky especially with near by objects. Lastly this antenna is not hard to tune once you get used to it’s behavior. I have made some really good contacts on it. Most of it was digital (FT8/ PSK31/Winlink) etc. I was also pleased with the phone section too. For a vertical I’m impressed. All in all… this is a compromise antenna. As long as you know what you are getting, you can make this a beast of an antenna especially for SOTA/POTA. If you are a new ham I would recommend starting off with something different as it can be challenging. If you are an intermediate/advanced then I think you could make it work well. This is coming from a one year ham guy what do I know. Also do not touch the antenna when transmitting. Don’t ask why… ... show more

Used it and tested, great product, it works just as expected. Lightweight, compact when stored, easy to mount, and easy to tune. It's just great to put it in a backpack and travel anywhere with a QRP radio, in a matter of minutes you're ready to QSO. In the future I'll test it for POTA/SOTA activations. Maybe add a small ruler in the bag to measure the lengths for fine tuning. ... show more

So far no complaints. Bought this for portable operation. I've used it on 40 meters. Once tuned , my rigexperts showed a 1.09 SWR at 7.125. Yes it is fragile on the pull up whip, but if you take your time extending it, shouldn't be an issue. Pleased with operation so far.

Product is great but whole experience with amazon double taxing me US tax and Swedish tax makes the whole buy super expensive. They collect all orders so i had to wait 3 weeks for this. Could have bought two antennas for same price in china. Amazon customer support refuse to pay me back US tax and i asked them twice. Good job amazon. Despite the somewhat negative reviews on YT, this antenna performs well. Unfortunately putting it in a tower will prove problematic unless you plan to use it for one band only. This is because the tuning is in both the coil and the telescoping whip. I set mine for the 20M band. With an auto tuner on my radio, I have used it on the harmonic bands as well with no I'll side effects. ... show more

I got this setup in under 5 minutes. Got a great low SWR of 1.2 in the middle of the 20m voice section of the band. Called a guy calling CQ who was in WA state 1500 miles away and he got me at a 5/5. Highly recommend, good build quality, easy to setup and tune. Great for POTA!
