I’ve never used a tool like this before, unless you count an ice auger, but I’m really impressed with how well this set works. Once you apply a little force, these bits really take off and bore holes in the ground with ease, making planting bulbs much simpler. It’s a huge time-saver, and I can’t believe I didn’t try something like this sooner. One of the best things about this set is that it includes four different sizes, so you have options depending on your needs. If you’ve never used these before, just keep in mind that they can move quickly, so it’s important to stay focused and control the drill as you’re using them. Otherwise, they can get away from you a bit. Overall, I’m really happy with how these perform, and they’ve definitely made planting a lot easier!

Unfortunately I got these late fall, and I just had nothing to plant yet. But I couldn't wait to try them out, and sure enough they were everything that I expected. They dig quickly and pretty easily into my ground. I worked all summer on readying flower beds and prepping landscaping around my house - the spring I have a ton of planting to do, and I already know this will make my life so much easier. It comes with different sized drill bits so I get many different sized plants into the ground efficiently. I'm so happy with this! Can't wait until spring now!

This bit set can cover just about anything you need to plant, from the smaller plants up to the 5-gallon and more. You might need to make a couple of passes in the hole for the bigger plants, but it's so much easier than digging them manually that you won't even care. They seem well-constructed and durable and should give you years of good use with basic maintenance. I will also use these in a few months when it's time to replace the mailbox post near the street. They'll make digging the hole for the new post a ton easier. Overall, I am ecstatic with this auger bit set. I highly recommend them.

Update: with the first big rain of the season coming in tonight, I needed to clear the ends of the drain pipe running under my driveway (the gophers have been busy all summer throwing up dirt and rocks), and I'm pleased to say the large auger did an awesome job of pulling up their leavings so I could easily shovel them out and clear the openings. Otherwise, I would have invested a whole lot of labor getting the shovel under the rocks to lift them out. Saved me a bunch of time and effort! These ended up being slightly heavier duty than I had expected. The steel gauge seems sufficient for the task, and the welds appear to be strong. We have sandy loam soil here with a lot of small rocks, and these do move that soil well. I would expect decent performance in rockier soils, especially if using a bigger drill than typical cordless. Slower speeds worked best for me in digging holes, especially when hitting rocks (less tendency to torque the drill out of my hands.) A second handle on the side of the drill will help control torque as well, so if you have one, use it. The box they come in works well for storage, too.

Yes, these work fine for planting bulbs. But, they are also great at mixing homemade potting soil mix They also come in real handy if you want to remove a tree stump without disturbing the surrounding soil. sure, I could use my backhoe but, I have found that if I disturb the soil in a big way here in the Ozarks, when it rains hard afterward, I ether see the soil wash away or, it turns into a mud pit that can swallow a vehicle. Instead of all that, we pop an auger in a cordless dill and dig around the roots with them to saw them off. It might be a little more hand labor but overall it's a lot less work than constantly filling a hole for the next 6 months. This set of augers is well built and will handle more abuse than your arms will, that's for sure.

This make the tedious job of planting bulbs so easy. They make a nice even hole that lets you keep everything even and spaced perfectly. They have a lot less torque than i was expecting which is great since i dont have the best of hand strength. I picked up a really cheap battery powered drill that is really light and now i can make holes every where with ease. I can’t believe I didn’t get one of these sooner.
