This stops my 5x7 area rug from moving. Take your time when placing it on the floor and when placing your rug on top of it, because the thin mesh can easily get folded or wrinkled. Once your rug is on top of it, you're not going to be able to slide it into place, so be sure the pad is located properly before you add the rug. ... show more

We purchased this area rug gripper to try to help keep a 5x7 rug in place under a desk chair to protect a hardwood floor. Unfortunately, the rolling around of the chair was too much movement and the rug did not stay fully in place, as expected on this floor. We wound up using carpet tape instead.

I never had a rig gripper that actually worked. This rig is very slippery and I had bought rug tape as a backup plan because it sits at the top of my stairs. I did not have to use the rug tape at all for this. I can even vacuum it with no issues. The 4x6 size was too big for the 4x6 rig but I just folded it a little on one size. My sister works for a "non-profit" gym to teach kids gymnastics. Gymnastics is typically a middle class or "preschool first child" type sport because it can be expensive. My sister discovered them and started taking her kids and eventually began teaching and took my kids. So, while I can't afford a full payment (that's why it is non profit, no child turned away) But once a month, I try to meet a small need, even though my kids can't join with the covid rules in place. This month, my sister said the biggest need was the ice cold and slippery floor where the little ones jump down to put on shoes ... and mom is outside and cannot help. The little ones wear socks, and it is slippery. So, I got a no slip pad and a runner carpet. While we got the wrong size carpet ... the no slip pad is perfect! This is the standard "no slip" stuff that has been sold for years and years. It was the perfect size and thickness to secure that carpet so the little ones didn't slip and hit their heads.
