I was a bit skeptical about ordering these sheets on line. I was disappointed in the past when the “all cotton” proved t to be cotton-poly blend. Also the tread count was not what I expected. So, in short, the Mayfair sheet set was everything they advertised. I know it seems strange to laud a company for telling the truth but that is what Mayfair did. Now, to the specifics. The sheets were great. I have been sleeping on them for about a week and they are comfortable. Another thing that it is important to me is the coolness factor. I live in Florida and prefer a cooler sheet. The Mayfair sheets do not warm you up. That is what the comforter is for. I was unsure of what exactly the difference between 800 and 1000 thread count would make, but I do know the difference between 400 and much higher count makes. The Mayfair sheets show that they have a high thread count. As others have said they are a bit on the thin side, but that is okay. One of the big things that others have commented on was the size. Today’s mattresses are much thicker than the mattresses in the past, so it is very important that the sheets have the depth to properly fit the mattress. The Mayfair sheets do. Other sheets shrink after washing, so it is very hard to put on. I laundered the sheets before I put them on the bed, so, I hope subsequent washings will not adversely affect fitting. I was a bit unsure about what “Sateen” actually means. I did not want a satin sheet as it seems to be too slippery. The Mayfair sheets are smooth. Another issue is ironing. The Mayfair sheets are not no-iron. I am a casual housekeeper, so I do not feel it is necessary to iron everything. I am guessing that adding a no-iron feature would adversely affect other aspects. In short the Mayfair sheet set is everything they say they are and in this day and age it is a rarity. Recommended highly.

UPDATE: As the old saying goes, "I jumped the gun!" I made my review way to soon. After having slept on these sheets for awhile I have found them to be cool and comfortable. However, once washed and dried they do not seem to lose their wrinkles but I did not buy them for the looks, I bought them for the comfort. So I have raised my rating from one star to four. Give these sheets a chance, they are worth it. First Review: We all have our own individualized comfort level when it comes to most things in life, including bedding. For me personally I was VERY disappointed with this Mayfair sheet set. This was the most I had ever paid for sheets but I trusted the reviews, Amazon, the description of the product and the Mayfair company years of experience in bedding. When the set arrived they were in a zippered plastic case. The plastic did have a bad odor but not over powering. The first thing I noticed was the thinness and slight roughness of the material but thought, "Hey no big deal." so I followed the instructions for washing and drying. They came out more wrinkled than anything I had ever dried and the wrinkles have not gone away but again, "No big deal." The fitted sheet was suppose to fit snugly to a full size mattress, but was far too big.....again "No big deal." As in the description, the material had a glossy tint to it and this seem to take away much of the "softness" from the material. Since I don't know much about sheets, only that they should feel good to the touch of the skin, I suspect it could have something to do with the thread count and tightness of the weaving. For me it wasn't so much the appearance of the sheets as it was the comfort. After one night of sleeping on these sheets.....I hated them as I tossed and turned the whole night. I feel like I am being too critical but to me this product was far too expensive for what appears to be the wrong material for bedding comfort. Never again will I buy a Mayfair product. I suppose I am one of the few who didn't like this sheet set.

I ordered these 800 thread count sea foam Mayfair linen sheets and then ordered the 1000 thread count Mayfair linen bed sheets king size lilac color and for some reason the 800 thread count sea foam ones I received are far thicker then the 1,000 thread count sheets. So I understand why some people are saying some of these bed sheets are thin and why some people are disagreeing and saying that they are thick and it's because Mayfair Linen seems to send out inconsistent product. As you will notice if you read your tag on your bed sheets some will say 100% Natural Cotton, other tags will say 100% Egyptian cotton, then on a third pair I ordered the thick pair I had a black tag that said 100% Long Staple Cotton so this is why some reviews say the sheets are thin and some say that they are thick. Unfortunately I wish Mayfair Linen would put out the same thick product continuously but unfortunately they don't. So it's just luck of the draw if you get a thin pair or thick pair. I am giving Mayfair Linen a semi low rating for inconsistent product.

I purchased these linens after a visit to our favorite Bed and Breakfast. I love the bedding there. I found the tag on those linens and went on a search for home bedding with comparable composition and thread count. That led me to the Mayfair linens. I ordered them during Prime Days. They look and feel exactly like the linens at my favorite Bed and Breakfast at much less than half the price. My only complaint is that the fitted sheet could be a bit larger. It can be a bit of a struggle to put it on our thick mattress. I have been using them exclusively since purchasing them. Washing and immediately putting them back on the bed. They are showing zero signs of wear and tear.
