Good solid feel and stays put due to the wood core and metal connectors. Doesn't slide around like the plastic attachments. The paint is easily scratched off the wood. I managed to scrape a large area at the very front of the seat just by standing the unit on the tile floor while installing.

The toilet seat it really nice so far, it is slow close which is nice for kids and boys especially having to lift the seat each time. The only issue I had was installing it. The left side went on super easy but for some reason the right side of my toilet sticks out a little further and I had the hardest time getting it to screw on. The instructions were a bit confusing because it says to twist until the bottom plastic park of the plastic bolt comes off but mine never came off. I had to call in reinforcements to help get the right side on and it's still not super tight bit it works. I won't be buying this one again for the toilet I have. I've never had issues with any other toilet seats I've bought. Other than that it's a great seat, just make sure to check your toilet where it screws in first, the bolts are long and bigger than others I've bought in the past so I think that was the issue. ... show more

My wife has broken 2 seats in the past 2 months and she's a small woman! They are just cheap nowadays I guess! Until this one came along....I searched for metal hinges and this did it. Guaranteed never to loosen. You actually tighten the plastic outer piece until a part breask off and its on forever! It even has a slow close feautre preventing slamming. It's wood structure makes it solid. It will stand the test of time. I'm not sure what she has been doing in there but it has outlasted all the other models.... ... show more

I tried to install this myself but finally had to call my plumber. AND, I knew better. He's the professional and I should have called him first. Anyway, once installed it looks incredible. I would never buy a cheap model again. You can't go wrong with this lovely toilet seat.

This really worked to stop the seat from sliding around, however I only had it six months and one of the sides cracked in half while I was sitting on it. I'm only 220 lbs so not huge, and I live alone. I feel like it should live a lot longer for just one person using it.
