Recent purchase so this is on the order of so far so good. Installation was easy and secure. Fit and finish just fine as a replacement for the slow close seat from another well known manufacturer that suddenly snapped after about 3 years. I did take to heart some of the issues other reviewers have posted about possible hinge weakness and seat breakage. So I found online, ordered and installed, the pictured self adhesive bumpers as seen on the bottom of the seat. These bumpers are a little thicker than the factory bumper and result in the seat bottom being a uniform distance from the bowl around its circumference. The hope is that they will both relieve pressure on the hinges and mitigate any tendency this engineered seat may have to break. It certainly would have been preferred that the manufacturer had installed better support for the seat but hopefully this will do the trick. One other little gripe is that the hinge mount covers are overly difficult to open. I had to resort to use of a tool to pop them open to allow removal of the seat for cleaning. ... show more

It was easy to install The lid closure works well. Just be sure to have the seat exactly where you want it as you tighten it down. The tightening nut will split in two when it is appropriately tight. I purchased these toilet seats on a Prime Day deal so it was a great price. They are much nicer than I could have hoped. They were very easy to install and they are the perfect thickness and fit. These seats were replacements for those cheap plastic seats that come with new toilets. I am used to soft close seats so we were continually slamming these cheap seats when closing. The soft close works perfectly. I would highly recommend as these seats are as good if not better than the major brands. ... show more

They are not, but the top coat/color breaks down over time from cleaning. Maybe last 2-3 years. I've had one that I bought where the arm broke and all the ones I've purchased (4) have had color breakdown. I will keep buying them but just good to be aware.

This toilet seat is AWESOME! High quality enameled wood, round, white. All the things I wanted. I purchased a cheaper brand initially and that was a big mistake as the entire ordeal was horrible. So, I immediately jumped on Amazon and bought this one instead. I had already tossed my old toilet seat. I needed a replacement ASAP. Luckily, Amazon made good on their one-day delivery promise and I got this seat delivered the next afternoon less than 16 hours later. Very happy! It is VERY sturdy, has a soft close feature, is super easy to clean, has a nice design, and looks great once installed. The best part about this toilet seat is that it is PERMANENTLY TIGHT. I can’t stand it when toilet seats start to loosen and shift around so you have to tighten them again and again. Well this one is completely different, and they mean when they say it won’t EVER loosen. The only way I could see this seat loosening is if the securing screw breaks, which is highly unlikely. As we all know, toilet seats don’t last forever. So how, you might ask, can you replace this seat if the sucker is permanently attached, hmm? Well that’s another cool feature! Just pop onto Amazon here and buy another of this exact seat. If you’re like me, you’ll buy several so you have them for future replacements in case of discontinued manufacturing. The seat has these little lever type things that you just slide open and the entire top of the seat will slide right out of its grooves! Kind of like taking a door off its jamb. This is also how you’d clean and sanitize the entire seat in an ergonomic manner, rather than bending over the bowl to do it. Your replacement seats you purchased would work the same since it’s the same model. Just pull off the top half from the unlocked position and install onto the toilet. The portion of the old seat that remains is only the securing screw… still super tight and clamped down. The inventor of this seat was a mad genius! I’ve never seen one like it but it’s definitely the ONLY seat I’ll buy going forward! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You WILL most definitely need a wrench of some sort to install this seat, NOT a screwdriver like most other types. The securing screw has to be tightened down enough on the underside of the toilet so that half of it literally snaps off which is how it becomes locked in place permanently. Only way to tighten it enough is with a wrench. Socket wrench recommended. This seat is NOT installed like typical seats, so pay close attention to how the arrows on the bolts face, which end of the snap screw to use, etc. I almost installed my seat upside down but caught it just in time. This is an important step because remember once the set screw is tightened and snaps off, it’s gonna be difficult/impossible to correct an alignment, orientation or position error. So go slow and get it right the first time. If installed correctly, it will fit perfectly and soft close like my video shows. Enjoy :) 12/15/22 UPDATE: I’ve had this toilet seat installed for 1.5 years. Do I still love it and stand behind my 5 star review? ABSOLUTELY!! The seat is STILL, 1.5 years later, as tight as the day I installed it in May 2021. I love this thing!! The underside of the seat is just barely starting to show some wear/tear for obvious reasons, which after 1.5 years of daily use, tells me how high quality craftsmanship this seat really is. I’ve recommended this to everyone I know! You should buy it, love it like I do, and tell your friends :) ... show more

Great, solid toilet seat. Easy to install and even easier to replace if you had the same toilet seat. HOWEVER, would have given it five stars, but didn't because the handles connecting the hinge to the toilet seat (with the 2 screws) cracks/breaks for no apparent reason. It's made of garbage. The springs and toilet seat are perfectly fine but worth nothing if that connector from the spring to the toilet seat brakes. Happened to two of them over a 3-year period. And we are very gentle with it. A part like that should have a minimum of 5-year warranty. They should at least sell the connectors by themselves for cheaper instead of having to order a whole new toilet seat. ... show more
