  • Perfect!
Size: 16.5'' Round Color: White
I absolutely love this toilet seat, which is something I've never said before in my life. It's fantastic to have a very modern, premium-feeling seat like this one. It isn't perfect though, it has one key issue that I'll note at the end. First of all, it's worth saying that my first order came defective - the button that you press to remove the toilet seat broke out of place. Hibbent was very kind and helpful, they sent me a replacement which came within a few days. So that resolution was a great first impression. Installation was easy, but it should have been easier. To start, you have to insert two rubber holders (they kind of look like wall anchors) into the holes of the toilet (where the screws go). But for some reason, the rubber holders come with the screws already screwed in. This threw me and my partner off, we were concerned that it wasn't compatible with our toilet since we couldn't get them in, but we didn't realize that we had to remove the screws first, and insert the rubber pieces separately (it's hard to describe in text, hopefully this makes sense). The instructions are somewhat confusing grammatically which is why we missed this detail, but it would be much better if the pieces were shipped already separated from eachother. I highly recommend just watching a Youtube video to see how to do it, because once you understand, installation is a breeze. But it was a little confusing when using only the paper instructions and the pieces in the box. But once it's set up, this is a really fantastic toilet seat. It feels good to sit on, the plastic is thick and it's quite comfortable. The slow-closing lid works perfectly, it's great and I love that I'll never hear a toilet seat slam in my house again. And it's so convenient to click it on and off the base. But this is my main issue and the reason why I give this seat only 4 stars: for some reason, one of the sides of the seat doesn't snap into place as firmly as the other. This is the side with the button (I'll just call it the right side, which is where it is when you look at it attached to your toilet). The left side snaps into place perfectly and doesn't jiggle around at all. However you have to kind of fiddle around to get the right side to stay firmly in place - it DOES snap fully shut, but I kind of have to move the button in and out a little to get it there. Thankfully it's not like I'll be removing the seat constantly (I'm still gonna clean around it most of the time, and then take it off maybe once a month or so for a deeper clean). But for a $60 toilet seat, this is extremely annoying, and feels like a design flaw. For what it's worth, I was able to snap the first (defective) toilet seat into place, by holding the button in the button hole with my finger, and that seat had the same issue where one side wouldn't click in as easily as the other. I assumed that this was due to the fact that the button was broken, but it looks like it might actually be a bigger issue. The #1 reason why I decided to purchase this is because I cannot stand when toilet seats jiggle, it drives me nuts. I hate sitting down and feeling the weight of my body shift around, for some reason it really infuriates me! So while I'm more than happy with the ease of taking it on/off, and the fact that the lid doesn't slam, and the premium quality, I really wanted a toilet seat that just won't move around much. And this one was so close! I mean, again, once it's locked in it STAYS locked in, which is a joy. But I am very unhappy with the inconvenience of having to fiddle with it for quite a bit of time in order to get it there. I don't know why this issue occurs but it happened no matter how many times I tested it, and I do hope that Hibbent can figure it out because it diminishes what is an otherwise wonderful luxury to have. I still can recommend this, I sincerely do love it (as much as one can love a toilet seat), but just be mindful of this one irritating quirk. EDIT - I'm upping my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I wrote that original review 5 months ago, and in that time, I've found that my main issue (one side of the toilet seat not firmly snapping into place) has actually not been a big deal at all. I *do* have to jiggle the seat into place to get that side locked correctly, but it's like, 1 second of jiggling max, and it stays firmly locked into place until the next time I remove the seat. I don't love this little quirk, I wish the seat simply locked and unlocked seamlessly and without any fiddling required, but it's ended up being an extremely minor issue - and it really doesn't detract from all of the positives. ... show more

  • Replacement seat
Size: One-click Elongated 18.5'' Color: White
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I was interested in a replacement that said it was made well and that you could remove the lid for cleaning. Functionality: It is the best replacement seat I have ever found. Once I was able to figure out how to put it on it is great. You need to supply a longer video that would help us girls understand it better. ... show more

  • Solid seating, doesn't slide, sturdy hinge, easy cleaning
I've been searching for a good toilet seat for DECADES, replacing most within a couple of years due to broken plastic hinges/bolts, or the finish going bad. I waited for 7 months of using the Hibbent One Click Elongated toilet seat to see how it did. So far - so good. In fact, I just purchased another one for the second bathroom. The seat is very comfortable and sturdy, no slipping from side to side. I did need to tighten the bolts once after installation, but I think that was due to my being cautious and not getting them quite tight enough the first time. Regardless, it's easy to tighten them. The bolts are stainless, not plastic, inside of rubber sleeves that have brass threads, so I have high hopes that they will not strip out or rust immediately. The wing nuts for the ends of the bolts are large, plastic covered, brass-colored metal. They are easy to hold in place while tightening the bolt from the top, so you only need one Phillips screwdriver to install the seat. I didn't really think the seat removal was that big of a deal when cleaning before buying this seat. I was very wrong. It's great to be able to pop the seat off, stick it into the bathtub, spray it with cleaner and rinse using the showerhead. While it drips dry, I tackle cleaning the toilet. The cover to the bolts lifts off, so there isn't any gross residue that seaps out later, leaving that little brown edge that is impossible to completely remove. I wash off the bolt cover in the sink, using the same spray, soak, rinse method with the faucet. To replace the seat, I hold the sides of the seat and put my ndex fingers on each hole in the hinge so it's easy to get the posts into them by feel. Once the seat is started onto the posts, I push the side button to let it slide down into place. Trying to hit the posts without using your fingers is a lot harder. Sometimes I don't get it exactly lined up, so I gently rock it back and forth until it starts sliding down the posts. The soft close didn't take long to get used to. The only problem we have with that is that we tend to drop regular seats with a loud bang since we've gotten used to our soft closing seat. It's sort of like when people walk into regular doors, expecting them to open themselves or waving at faucets instead of turning the handles. The only negative thing I have to say is that the instructions are not the best. They included a second instruction sheet with color photos in my later purchase which helped a lot. The first time, I didn't know that the bolt plate had to have the arms of the U pointing toward the tank and got it backwards (naturally). But it was obviously wrong pretty quickly and easy to correct. Unfortunately, the Almond/Bone color - which is perfect for my 1980's era toilets (Glidden Paint color "Parchment 40YY 70/138" is a match) - are not available at this time. They are only making white, so the second bathroom doesn't really look as great as the master does, but too bad. If this is just a supply chain issue and they do come out with the Almond color again, I may replace the white one just for the looks. Or not. FYI, when I went to register the toilet seat for the warranty, the website said it had to be done within 30 days of purchase, so don't procrastinate. ... show more
