I own this product in several colors but today were going to talk about the dark chocolate brown shade, "I am Determined". This stuff is truly great - smooth, blends easily and wears like IRON. In fact, my favorite use for these sticks is as a base - they hold on to eyeshadow and don't let go! It almost works a little too well - make sure you have a good remover! The shade I am Determined will of course be your base of choice if you are working with brown shades. It also makes a great one and done shadow look if you're feeling like it - it's a very flexible product!

The product is pretty and stays on. My pencil twists, no sharpening as it said, which is good. It’s kindof drying/sticky but I guess that’s why it stays. I also have to pull my eyelid taut to apply. I think darker colors might be splotchy or require a lot of application for even coverage as I have to put on a lot to get the bright sparkle I’m after. It doesn’t blend well with other powder shadows, probably need to use all creams

🖤 Love this MAYBELLINE Color Tattoo Shadow Stix line 🖤 . I use as eyeliner for softer looks or sometimes bolder looks. VERSATILE. I have many of the colors --they look great combined. Note: Matte liners will not budge and set quickly--- these last all day. The shimmery ones sometimes wear off after 5-6 hrs and smudge so that's not great and would need to reapply. But because they fade nicely, not too messy it still looks decent (esp the olive and rose shimmer ones) This depends on how oily skin is & / or how hot the temperature is. I still really like them and hope Maybelline does NOT discontinue.

The consistency is great. Very soft and creamy but in a stick form, but that was its downfall as well. The first time I used it, the entire tip broke off. I had to waste another large chunk trying to sharpen it.

Applying this product to the eyelid is uncomfortable. To apply, the crayon has to be drug across the eyelid with enough pressure to wrinkle the skin. This is not ideal for the sensitive skin around your eyes and is generally unpleasant. Not sure if you can tell in this picture, but the resulting coverage looks patchy (my husband confirmed). I tried this product twice before writing it off. The first time was without any product underneath. The second was applying the product on top of concealer. In both cases, my experience was the same. I am eager to find an everyday eye color that is easy to apply but unfortunately this was not it.

I had been looking for a creamy eyeshadow stick for a long while now with not a whole lot of selection to choose from. I normally only like using eyeshadow that's color is on the gray/charcoal color spectrum for that smokey eye look I often wear. However, there are not many brands that sell creamy eyeshadow sticks in their line. Most brands only offer the traditional powder eyeshadow. And of the few that do carry creamy eyeshadow sticks, they do not have gray amongst the colors available. And the of the small handful that do have gray as an option, they either are too far out of my price range (costing close to $20) or they usually contain glitter. However, im a 39 year old woman on a budget, that's not trying to look like Jem! & therefore I'm not a fan of makeup containing glitter or that necessitates getting a second mortgage on my house to afford it. So I was glad to come across Maybelline's Color Tattoo crayon in Charcoal Chrome. It was very reasonably priced at around $5. It did not include any glitter. It's the perfect shade of gray for my needs, not too light but not too dark either, just the perfect balance in between. And it goes on very smooth and effortlessly. It took just a few seconds to apply it. The actual crayon part had come loose out of the plastic body/dispenser of the product when I received it upon its delivery. Although, unlike what happened with other reviewers, the actual eyeshadow was not crushed and smeared all over the place. The crayon itself was still completely intact and without any damage so I gently slid it back into the plastic body/dispenser and had no further issues. However, I do see that this issue might not always turn out as well as it did for me. So if you are truly interested I'm getting this eyeshadow stick/crayon, I'd advise finding and buying it at your local pharmacy/department store etc.
