First time user. I have used L'Oreal forever. It's been about 6 weeks and I am happy. You definitely don't want to load the brush heavy. It coats really well with a lite coat. Clean up: I user Garnier mineral whatever make up remover for waterproof make up and it works great. When I first started I was heavy on the application and would end up with 'Looks like you had a night" black under eye smudge. I received the essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara in the brown shade, and I’ve been really impressed—especially for the price point. First, the color is what makes this stand out. The brown (black-brown) shade gives a much softer, more natural look than traditional black mascara, which is perfect for everyday wear. It still defines and enhances lashes, but without looking too harsh. It’s especially flattering in natural light. The brush is a conical fiber wand, which helps coat each lash evenly while adding noticeable length and volume. I found it easy to build—one coat gives a natural look, and two coats create more of that “false lash” effect the name promises. (essence makeup) Formula-wise, it goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel heavy. I didn’t experience much flaking throughout the day, though like most volumizing mascaras, you do need to be a little careful to avoid clumping if you apply multiple coats quickly. Once it dries, it holds well and keeps lashes lifted. I also really appreciate that it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and free from parabens, which is a big plus for a drugstore mascara. Overall, this is a fantastic everyday mascara if you want length and volume with a softer, more natural finish. I honestly didn’t expect much from this mascara, but it completely surprised me. It gives my lashes a really bold, false-lash effect with both volume and length. Just a couple of coats and my lashes look way more dramatic and defined. The wand helps separate lashes nicely without too much clumping, and the formula builds up easily. It also holds curl pretty well throughout the day without flaking or smudging on me. For a drugstore mascara, this is seriously impressive. Tried this mascara, it was a gift, and ended up purchasing more. It does not clump, it works, it stays on, even though not waterproof, it is perfect for all day.. I like the wand, nothing fancy, ordinary truthfully, but it is easy to handle. And a fraction of the price.
