First time user. I have used L'Oreal forever. It's been about 6 weeks and I am happy. You definitely don't want to load the brush heavy. It coats really well with a lite coat. Clean up: I user Garnier mineral whatever make up remover for waterproof make up and it works great. When I first started I was heavy on the application and would end up with 'Looks like you had a night" black under eye smudge. This is a cheap mascara that I swear on! Im a dog groomer, and the water proof mascara stays on all day, even after hours of getting splashed by dogs! I decided to try this mascara a couple years ago and honestly haven’t stopped buying it since. For the price, you really can’t beat it. It gives great volume and length without needing a bunch of coats, and it doesn’t get clumpy. I also had no issues with smudging or flaking, even wearing under-eye liner, which is usually where mascaras fail on me. I’ve recommended this to a lot of people and still do. At first I did NOT like this mascara because it was so clumpy. Then, I tried scraping the brush all the way around the top of the opening to remove the caked on mascara. GREAT brush shape! Four stars because it is a decent mascara for the price! I'm very fair, so I try to use brownish mascaras rather than black. I like the color, but it is difficult to achieve the look I want without a lot of clumping. I have seen others use this brand without clumped lashes, so maybe it's something I'm doing. Overall, it's a decent mascara for the price, but I'm not sure that I would purchase it again. I haven't noticed any flaking, but it does smudge when you first put it on. ... show more
