BUT. this product absolutely does what it says!!!! gives the appearance of massive thick dark beautiful (not fake looking) lashes. sorta lengthening, definitely thickening. i started out by using it alone. then one day i added a layer of my l’oréal telescopic mascara and i swear to god my lashes were shockingly thick and long and just 100% impressive. the only con i would say is at some point, it does start to “shed” or “flake” off. not a lot but it’s noticeable under the eye or on the cheekbones. despite it not being waterproof, it’s a little stubborn to remove. def need makeup remover. small cons compared to the phenomenal results. sometimes i even sleep in it and ill wake up with it looking 90% fine, like i just applied it. and its not on my pillowcase ? incredible. ... show more

I have used hundreds of mascaras and this one is by far my favorite! I have searched high and low for a mascara that makes my eyelashes look good but that doesn't smear or run. I've always had that issue where after just a few short hours at work, the bags under my eyes have black stuff everywhere without me even touching them. I was looking for a new mascara and saw this positively recommended/reviewed on multiple TikToks. This is my honest review of the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara, from someone who has tried it all. The price is VERY good compared to others on the market. The applicator brush is pretty simple, straight (no curves), with brush bristles. The bristles really grab onto a lot of the product so you just have to be careful that you aren't applying too much and that there isn't product on it that has already dried/clumped and is stuck in the bristles. I recommend cleaning the applicator every couple days to avoid clumpy lashes. The mascara itself is a dark strong pigment and is a thicker gel like consistency. Application is easy but as I stated, this can make your lashes clumpy if you're not careful about cleaning the applicator between used. I find that it looks better with one application, and if you do multiple applications the lashes clump and the product looks too thick. It stays on well throughout the day, but I do occasionally see flakes of mascara under my eyes by the end of the day. My lashes look darker, longer, and thicker... but maybe a bit TOO thick when it clumps. Overall, I'm not in love with this mascara, but I don't totally hate it either. If you are looking for a super inexpensive mascara and are very careful about application, this isn't a bad purchase. But I likely won't be repurchasing it. Hope this helps! ... show more

This mascara exceeded my expectations and rivals even very expensive ones, except Chanel and Gucci mascaras - those two are the only ones I've ever truly loved, but can't always justify their price, unless I can find them on eBay. This Princess goes on nice and thick and makes my lashes a lot longer, so they look really, really good. The tube handle is easy to grip & open bc of its shape. I have been in love with mascara my whole life and I’m 44 yrs old. I have never worn false lashes not even one special occasion. I have used a variety of mascara throughout my life. People never could believe I didn’t have false lashes on. But what they didn’t know it took forever to get them like that with multiple coats and separating each lash. Then I found this mascara back in 2018 at Ulta at the time. Decided to try it and it was a game changer! I have stuck with this ever since and probably will for the rest of my life. I am a mature woman with fair hair, pale skin and almost white eyelashes. I bought two of the expensive mascaras that were marketed for older women. They just didn’t do the job. They smeared and it took four or five coats to even see my eyelashes. After those colossal and expensive failures, I was searching for mascara again, and I found this brand. I was intrigued. They are very inexpensive, and I could easily afford it if it was another mistake. My grandfather was from Luxembourg, so it was yet another reason to try it! This is a total winner for me. Two or three coats does it. It stays on and when it’s time to remove it, it takes one remoistened eye makeup remover pad for each eye. Sometimes I use an extra pad to make sure it’s all gone, but one usually does it. I have sensitive eyes and a lot of allergies. This does not bother my eyes. It’s very comfortable. It goes on easily and comes off easily. I highly recommend this brand. The eyeliner looks wonderful too. It doesn’t tug or pull on the eyelids as some do. I totally love this. I love this mascara sooo much, my only problem with it is by the end of the day it has smudged off super bad, worse than almost every other mascara I’ve worn, but I also rub my eyes constantly so this could be a personal problem🤷♀️ I love the volume and the length it gives me, along with the fact that it holds a curl very good, unlike most other mascaras, I’m excited to try the waterproof one once this runs out.
