As I pursue beekeeping this year I've spent a great deal of time researching the necessary equipment. I've built hives (bait and permanent), frames/foundation.. Have bought clothing--suit, veil, gloves (gloves also included in this kit). And I have an experienced neighbor that will share his knowledge/experience. This kit contains everything "hands on" required to manage a hive. I've handled each item and each seem well crafted--especially for a novice like myself. This is just a start, and for someone in the same stage of beekeeping as myself, I recommend it. I have gathered quite a few items related to beekeeping and realize how important a "hands on" review is. Once I get into the beekeeping season I plan to update in hopes of providing depth to the review to provide real value to potential buyers. Take care!

This is a good selection of tools for raising bees. The gloves however are very small, even for a woman's hands. With the variety of tools included, still may be worth the price, unless you are specifically looking for the gloves.

This is a great collection of tools to start out with when you get int bee keeping. It comes with everything you're gong to need to process honey and perform routine check ups on your Hive. The tools are made of high quality metal too and don't bend or flex much either when using them. The smoke maker in particular is very easy to use and orifices a good amount of smoke to calm down the bees so you can come and go. The size is good too and fits nicely in my hand. Functionally this is a great set that includes everything I needed to process honey when my Hive was ready. Highly recommended and good value for what you get.

This 13 piece MayBee starter kit for beekeepers contain the tools you need to work your first bees. The smoker, smoker fuel and hive tool are essentials for hive inspections. I like that the tool is a J-hook, which makes it easy to pull up frames. There is a queen marking tube included and a queen cage. The bee brush is soft and made of natural bristles, not the stiff nylon that some brushes are made of. There is an uncapping knife and an uncapping fork included as well for when it's time for harvest. And there is a small hive beetle trap and an entrance feeder to use for mason jars. Great value kit!

I had bees years ago, and for the past several years have been wanting to have a couple hives. Well, I finally decided it was time and had to start over with the tools and gear. This set from MayBee is a pretty comprehensive set of most all the items that you will need to start maintaining your hive. From the smoker, to the uncapping knife, to the frame grip, everything is made well and this kit is a quality investment which will save you money from buying individually. One of the few other items you may want to purchase is a good suit, but that depends on the individual. This is a great kit to start your backyard beehive and I'm really excited.
