  • Good overall with some minor flaws
The assembly instructions were a bit on the vague side. For example, the instructions do not clearly explain how much air should be pumped into the bag. I want a good feel but don't want to damage it by overfilling with air. Should it be firm similar to a fully pumped basketball or a little looser? To be safe, I inflated the bag enough so that it isn't completely firm which is satisfactory for now. It seems the "cap" (Marked "E") was mixed with the "blockage segment" (Marked "G") in the instructions. This made for a bit of a head scratcher but common sense kicked in and I was able to assemble the product. There is a small roll of tape included which apparently addresses the issue of screws coming loose with use of the bag. The instructions for the tape were separate from the main instructions and were a little unclear so I called the seller (eeMore) for clarification. I was called back a day later by friendly staff member who answered my questions and offered to email me pictures to help with the assembly (I read somewhere that there were pictures on the eeMore website to help with assembly but I couldn't find them). The tape is supposed to wrap around the screws to help keep them from unscrewing with use of the product. There are two screws to wrap with tape. One affixing the bar to the base and another attaching the bag to the bar. The instructions say to wrap the tape 2x. I did it at least 3x. After using the product for 20 minutes, I found the bag still unscrews after a few punches, for which I have to turn the bag to screw it back down mid-workout. It doesn't come undone enough for the bag to fly off or anything. It is mildly annoying but I can live with it. In short, the tape does not seem to be a true fix for the problem. There is a note in the instructions regarding "temporary elastic fatigue" in which the bar will "appear slanted or have a bend" after "heavy use." The bar already had a slight bend upon completion of assembly. There are instructions on how to relieve this temporary elastic fatigue which I have tried, but the bend persists. It is only off by a few degrees from standing straight up. It isn't a deal breaker for me but I would've expected the product to stand straight as it shows in the ads. I filled the base with sand. After watching some review videos online about the product, I decided to buy an extra olympic plate to help weigh the base down. There were review videos that exhibited the product would tip over with a solid punch. I tested the bag after filling it with sand and it did fall over with a good hook. I saw videos that recommended a 10 lb plate. I went overboard and bought a 25 lb plate. I figured I could use it for other exercises. I can't vouch for use of a 10 lb plate but the base doesn't budge filled with sand and the 25 lb plate. The olympic size was recommended (vs standard) as the opening is big enough to accommodate the bar and the tension knob. That being said, it was a bit annoying to spend an extra $35 on the plate to weigh the base down since I didn't have an extra plate laying around the house. Noise was a factor for me in considering the product as I didn't want to bother my neighbors while using it. The bag does make some noise as expected. But it doesn't seem to be extremely bothersome. It was difficult to judge the noise based on the review videos I found on YouTube as the enclosed spaces probably amplified the sound. It makes enough noise for me to avoid using the bag too early in the morning or too late at night. I'm not sure if the noise will increase or decrease with continued use. Despite some small annoyances, I am satisfied with the reflex bag. I'm not extremely picky so I can live with the minor flaws at the price I paid for. The bag works just as I imagined it would. I was originally in the market for a heavy bag but decided to go with the reflex bag as a starter piece of equipment. I knew that I wouldn't be able to use the reflex bag as I would a heavy bag. After using the reflex bag, I find that I still definitely want a heavy bag in the future. I'm a 225 lb male at 5'10" who exercises 4-6x a week. The base is easy enough for me to move. I basically wanted a product that I could use for novice boxing training. I also wanted a piece of equipment I could use at home for a short workout if I didn't want to go to the gym. The reflex bag works for these purposes. ... show more

  • Not for tall people
The quality of this product isn't too bad but it just isn't designed for anyone tall. Ibam 6'1 and it's at my chest level. I have to punch down or really crouch in an awkward way. At it's highest speed it still slow, noisy and the base is heavy enough when fill with water so it slide around easily. It's great for a young kid though. ... show more

  • Not Bad For The Price - Few Issues Though
Okay, this is actually a fairly decent product for the price, but I have not had it very long. The text in the instructions, about not puncturing the inner bladder of the bag while blowing it up, makes it seem like you should not insert the needle all the way into the hole... but what you should do is: - Dip the needle in water, and start to insert it. - It will go in very easily at first, and then you will meet resistance. - Grab the body of the plastic needle hole with your thumb and and index finger, pull up and away from the center - Push the needle in slowly, past the resistance, until you feel it "pop" thru the other side - Nearly the entire length of the needle will be inserted into the hole. - Start Pumping and Voila! The rest of the set up is pretty easy, although the pictures of the separate washer parts are not very apparent. Still set up fairly quickly after the bag fiasco... I filled mine with water, which works very well, but I have med-high carpet in my apartment, so that really helps keep it in place. Its definitely noisy, and I could see rust all on the inside of the spring on the base pole. The outside looks fine, but its very odd that there would be rust on the inside of the metal upon opening. The makes me think that the metal probably has some fatigue and won't last as long as I would like, but I'll have to be careful with it. Also, one of the plastic packages was open and a few parts were strewn around the box, as well as the base plug, which was removed for some reason. AND, when I put it together, it was already leaning about 3° - 5° to one side. They give instructions on how to fix the fatigue lean, but that's only suppose to happen after heavy use from one side, without rotating. I had never used it before, and am starting to wonder if being "Tested by rigorously being bent to the SAME POINT OVER 120,000 times" is actually more harmful to the end user experience, than it is helpful. I mean, they give instructions not to overuse one side, but yet prior to you even getting the equipment, they've simulated you doing exactly what they said not to do, for a period of what would probably equate to a few weeks or a month (depending on use). The gloves that come with the unit are a complete joke. Honestly, if they didn't have that plastic bar in the middle of the hand, then they would make decent oven mitts. I bought these instead - Everlast Mixed Martial Arts Heavy Bag Gloves (L/XL) Even with all that, its still not a bad buy for $89.00 with free shipping. Good enough to increase your reflexivity & coordinatory skills. Do not buy if you do not live on the first floor. Your neighbors will probably hate you. -------------- I will come back and change this review at a later date, should my opinion of this product change. ... show more

  • Base moves when hit with power
Overall the quality is decent. The base says fill with water, but even when it’s full, it moves. The assembly was easy and really no other problems. Just don’t expect to hit this thing hard
