  • Hard to focus
Size: 40070W1050
This is nice, light weight and nice looking. Still tinkering with it. Canโ€™t get I to point up and still working on the focus thing.

  • Great Telescope!
Size: 40070W1050
My husband and I purchased this telescope for our son for Christmas. Although we haven't had many nights that were clear enough to use, the nights we have had have been awesome! It's perfect for beginners and my son thought it was neat that it also came with binoculars and a few other items. We love that it's something we can all enjoy together too! ... show more

  • Shacky and small image.
Waited all this time for the conditions to be right to view the moon. I put it up on a sturdy table so I would not have to extend the tri-pod legs. With the legs all the way out it's very sensitive to touch and shakes the image. I could see the moon pretty well. You can see the ejector blankets, maria and impact craters. Focus is a challenge. Turning the knob shakes the image. The image is very small. I thought it would fill the whole screen, but no. I have never looked though a telescope before so I don't have anything to compare it to. If I had it to do over again. I would not go so cheep. I would spend some extra money and get a better telescope ... show more

  • Hoped for more...but it's a $70 telescope.
Based on reviews, including one by a good friend who recommended this telescope, we were excited to receive it. Alas, it was a big disappointment. The viewfinders, lenses and optical components are decent, but the unit itself is very flimsy. As for using the smartphone (iPhone 11) with it...that was a big fat fail. To learn how to use it & check things out, we were just viewing rocks and flowers, not hummingbirds as pictured in the very scant directions. The phone fit in the adapter, but aligning the phone's camera lens with the telescope lens was pretty much impossible and then when it was finally aligned, if you let go of the camera, the telescope shifts from the additional weight and there goes your carefully aligned view. Perhaps an older smartphone with only one lens would be easier (and lighter), but modern phones with 3 lenses, forget it. If you just want to look at rocks or trees or mountains, this would work well (as long as you don't want to take photos). As for looking at anything moving and trying to take photos, it doesn't seem to work well at all. Will be sending it back and continue our search for a good, decently priced telescope. ... show more

  • Great gift for 11-year-old boy
Size: 40070W1050
The binoculars are used quite frequently. The telescope is excellent for looking at the moon, not so much for stars around Seattle Washington even on nights that are clear. The stars are there, not much more. The price is quite inexpensive. I believe I selected this item because it had the binoculars. Other telescopes at about the same price have auto tracking which you may want to consider. Again, you can see the stars and find them, but thatโ€™s about it. I donโ€™t expect them to dance, but they were not too fascinating. I am satisfied and would still buy it if I had it to do over. ... show more

  • Too short for tall kids. Flimsy mount. Good OTA.
Good for moon so far. Mount is very flimsy and adjusting telescope is jumpy. Mount is too short for tall kids. Needs a 90ยฐ diagonal instead of the 45ยฐ one that's included. Slow motion controls would be helpful too. I'll probably buy a new mount. Tube itself is very nice. Good companion scope for young kids to use while bigger kids use a bigger scope. The tube itself is worth the money. ... show more
