Others have dissed this tiller but I disagree. It’s true, it won’t till up ground that’s never been worked, but it does a pretty good job between planted rows that have been previously tilled. It saves us tons of work hoeing (which I hate) and it’s been a good investment to our gardening. It does work better going backward than forward for some reason and the batteries need to last longer, but I’m usually ready for a break by the time it needs charging anyhow.     • Useless - overheats after 5-7 minutes
Size: 12'' Tiller Cultivator
Assembly was awful because the instructions weren’t helpful. I finally figured it out and charged both batteries overnight. I used it to turn the soil in an already tilled garden plot. It worked for 5, maybe 7 minutes tops before the motor stopped and I heard 2 beeps. I waited about 10 times and it started again but... The same thing happened. The machine worked for 5-7 minutes then the motor stopped and I heard the 2 beeps. At that point, I removed the batteries which were HOT; not warm but hot. I let them sit for maybe 30 minutes until they cooled down then put then on the charger overnight. I decided to try again the next day. This time I removed the batteries from the charger but didn't install them in the tiller for about 10 minutes. The batteries were cool immediately after I removed them from the charger but warm when I installed them in the tiller 10 minutes later. And guess what? Today, the same thing happened. I used the tiller for 5-7 minutes then the motor stopped and I heard the 2 beeps. I was unable to contact the seller and had to use Amazon’s customer service chat. They immediately issued a refund and I insisted that UPS pick it up for free. This machine is useless if it can't aerate an already tilled plot before overheating. Sadly, now I need to shop for another small, cordless tiller. ... show more

Very heavy made but not heavy to hold. It doesn't bend when digging in hard dirt. It breaks up the soil well. The handle has a good feel to it.

    • Lightweight and Comfortable
The tool is lightweight and it feels ergonomic to hold. Excited to put it to use this gardening season. Pros and cons of it being so lightweight is that it's light and easy to hold so you don't fatigue if you're using it for a while. Downside is because it's light weight, you have to use your own strength to move the dirt where as heaver ones the weight of the tool helps carry some of the work on it's own. But I prefer this lighter weight so the strain is not on my wrist but on the strength of my forearms. ... show more

When I first opened this garden cultivator and handled it, I was surprised at how light weight it was, especially because it doesn't look light weight. Then I was concerned at how well it would work, being so light weight. IT. DOES. GREAT! Yes, I'm shouting that out to everyone. I garden a lot - veggie gardening - and this kind of tool is one of my most used. My others were never this stout and the prongs never seemed to hold up, or the beefier ones were too heavy to use long-term and I like to garden by the hour. But this guy, he's awesome! This little, stout guy will definitely be a relief to my forearms, while still getting the job done. The handle is very comfortable holding it a couple different ways - which is nice for my hands and arthritis, to comfortably change positions when holding it. It dug into my weed infested garden beds nicely and easily pulled up clumps of weeds as you can see in the pics. I was so in love with it, I had to take more pictures as I was walking back to put it away. Away from my hubby so he couldn't find it and use it... it's mama's!! ... show more

    • Decent quality and comfortable
This hand tiller is very comfortable to use. The rubber handle feels fantastic and I have decent grip for hard roots. The steel claw is rugged and does well pulling through the dirt. It feels very high quality but time will tell to see how it holds up against rust.
