VentMax is an integrated automatic fan system with specially designed sensors that engage fans to circulate air when the temperature rises. Special open-cell padding and soft, breathable mesh fabric allow air to circulate around your child (2 fans in the lumbar area, 1 in the headrest) to enhance airflow and comfort. You’ll know the VentMax fans are engaged when you see the automatic indicator light. The VentMax system is also water resistant (don’t worry about spills!), super quiet, and shuts off when the car power port does. Our innovative all-in-one convertible car seat will be part of your family for years in 3 modes of use: rear facing infant car seat (5–40 lbs., 19"–40"), forward facing toddler car seat (22–65 lbs., 29"–49"), belt-positioning high back booster seat for big kids (40–100 lbs., 43"–52"). Second unit purchased since in 4 months both chilling fans failed within 1 month. The idea is great but for 400 USD to have electrical problems in something your child sits in is worrisome - reading reviews this has happened to many others and must be a known issue for Dorel Industries the parent company of Maxi-Cosi. This product should be recalled, the last one I had the fans stopped working then the fuse in the 12v connector blew this means bad wiring in the system, faulty connectors or short circuits, overloading, the electrical fan system is located directly under the child. 12V can still cause burning and injury. I gave them benefit of the doubt QC issue and bought another one but this one also failed within weeks. Therefore it is not a one off! DO NOT BUY don't make the same mistake I did thinking it was a glitch this model seems systematically poorly assembled. ... show more

I really dislike this car seat. First off, the fan doesn't want to work which was the main reason I even chose this car seat. I bought it before she was born so by the time she outgrew her infant seat it was well pass the return window. The fabric feels uncomfortable and her head is always slouching. Although I don't like the fabric it is meant to be breathable and it is cushioned very well. Also its easily adjust with the top button for a different child size without having to remove the carseat out of the car which is a nice feature. ... show more

We love this car seat. Super convenient and saves us from Californias summers. My baby was sweating so hard and she was literally wet every time but now we not facing this problem anymore . The most important that I was wondering if if it won’t have any side effects on my kid health and thanks god no! Cooling function works on such slow and perfect settings that it’s exactly prevent sweating as I wanted to. My recommendation start using this car seat only after 6 months it’s kinda big and not that convenient for small babies ... show more

Really like this car seat! Only complaint I have is that I bought this for the cooling feature.... it has not worked since maybe the first month of having it. My advice... Just get the normal Maxi-Cosi car seat.

We really liked how this car seat worked. The problems we faced were that it put baby in too much of an upright position while rear facing, the chest clip could sometimes be more difficult to unhook and the price point. $400 isn’t cheap. It’s also pretty bulky but not much different than a Graco 4ever in my opinion. It had really nice cushion and the fan seemed to work good for hot days. Our son really seemed to like it. But again it came down to the incline rear facing and price. Both of which just wasn’t it for us. ... show more
