The media could not be loaded. Update: The company sent me a new remote. The piece works well, and for the price, it is beautiful. I would give it a 4.5 star. After figuring out how to get around the issue of not being square, Those who see it comment on how nice it looks. I am glad I didn't have to insert it and go through the hassle of building around it. My only complaint is that I wish to keep the heater on and turn off the light when sleeping since this is in my bedroom. I am leaving the text of my previous review intact. -------------------- I bought a 40-inch with a mantle, and let me tell you that the mantle could be a better fit for the heater. Here are a few installation tips: Don't attach the top until you fit the heater in and put the glass over it; you may have to disassemble parts of the bottom frame to fit the glass. Many times during the assembly, I wanted to return this product, but boxing both parts deterred me. The flame is unrealistic but not ugly, and my 12-week-old kitten likes it. The price seemed good, and I thought it would be a decent heater for my bedroom. I ordered the mantle because I didn't want to hire someone to install it, and I am not personally young enough, physically strong enough, or handy-sufficient to cut the wall, build a frame, fix the sheetrock, etc. Another big issue with the design is that the flame light will not turn off independently from the heater. If the heater is on, so is the fake flame, and for a bedroom, that is not a logical design. Finally, the remote I received only works sometimes, and dimming or increasing the light is impossible. I have contacted the seller and will let you know if they try to resolve the issue.

The fireplace is beautiful and puts out a nice amount of heat! I like being able to change the colors although green is my favorite I love that it has a remote. My daughter in law put it together for me and it took around 2 hours. Great value for the price!

It really adds to the esthetics we were looking for when converting the dining room to a sitting area. Pictured is the 40" electric fireplace with mantel. All-in-all, approximately 52"-ish. It's a really great size and the oblong shape is much better than squareon our 8' wall. The mantel is particle board as expected but pretty sturdy and comes with wall anchors so it doesn't tip over. We didn't use them because it has enough weight and sturdiness to it for our needs. I hear running the heat is very expensive but we only use the lighted fireplace. The different colors are nice, with the flame and log being able to be two different colors simultaneously. The price wasn't bad considering two heavy boxes shipped, arriving within a week. Both arrived together. The instructions for inserting the fireplace into the mantel was vague but with some thought, not too hard to figure out. Just be patient when putting the fireplace front glass back on after inserting into the mantle. And dont forget to put in the plastic pebbles before closing it off like I did. Over all, good deal. We love it.

Despite some negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant to buy, but I absolutely love this fireplace so far! All the settings and colors work perfectly. One reviewer mentioned not having all the fun vibrant color options, but mine certainly does! The heat works well, and while there is a slight fan noise when it's on, it's fairly quiet and hasn't been an issue or annoyance. I also saw some complaints about the color of the frame not being a true white, and I agree it's more of a grayish white, but it's still beautiful.

We live in a house that heats the guest room easily but not our master suite. We decided to try the electric fireplace as a heat source in the winter. We agreed it would be a Christmas present to each of us. We rearranged the bedroom to make space and assembled it easily, despite our being in our 70’s. Well, we are amazed at how much we are enjoying the electronic fireplace and how cozy the heater function is. The directions to assemble and operate have been very clear and easy to understand. We are very happy we did this.
