If you’ve never had an experience with a mattress topper, this is my second experience. I bought this under the intention of replacing my current mattress topper that is truly, SUPER SOFT, and filled my intention of having a plush, super soft mattress topper. My current “topper”, no longer - I said bye-bye to it - was all I had hoped since I have a firm mattress, and no plush top. The brand I had is no longer made. Age and washing my current mattress topper is why I am looking for a new topper. The mattress topper was super heavy and barely made it to my washing machine and should’ve gone to a commercial washer but I loved it and I had a few years and it was truly, plush, thick and super soft!!! I will keep this Mateby version. I am adding other layers on top of this Mateby topper to further protect the mattress topper and mattress and add “soft & plush “ levels. Hence, I am OK with keeping this, but it is good, barely 2.5 stars, I am generous and gave it 3 stars. I was looking for a soft mattress topper, but not as thick as what I had on my bed, which was a good 3 inches of soft, fluffy, thick filling. This mattress topper you’re looking at is not thick, barely soft, nor super fluffy. I would say it’s barely 1 inch thick, if that, and loosely filled. How can you tell this just looking at the information THEY, the manufacturer, provide? Do your homework. Look at the weight of the product and the GSM of a product, what is GSM? Grams/square meter. GSM will tell you how thick a product is, how heavy a product is, how durable a product is, how thick it is or verify what the manufacturer says it is. The GSM on this product is pretty low and indicates to me it is not thick or push. My goal was to have a soft, not super plush/heavy topper that is easier to handle and wash in a home washing machine, and add other protective layers on top of the topper to help with the softness and protection. Do not trust that this will protect your mattress. Don’t read everything that the manufacture tells you. They list in the title “protector” it does not protect. Look at the info below: “Water resistance level”: Not water resistant. “Special Feature:” Durability, Resistant Resistant to what? Stupid people? I’m adding another layer of protection over this for cooling and breathability and protects everything underneath it including my mattress. This “topper” is not a mattress protector. I don’t feel it is, I read it isn’t, and now know it more so, owning this product. It serves, my purpose, could be a little bit more plush and fluffy, is 4.8 lbs so I knew it was easy to handle and wasn’t as thick. You can see that in the information, but, their “new version” is over 10 pounds, which tells me it’s most likely thicker and plush. It screams it from the info they provided and it’s on sale. Go get the new version if you are looking for a thick, plush, soft, and that it meets OKEO standards. The bottom line, this product is barely soft and plush. If you’re looking for soft and plush, this product is not for you. If you’re looking for cotton, this product is not for you. I love cotton, this product is OK at best. I prefer cotton. This version/brand is a topper and barely serves its purpose the manufacturer is telling you “believe us.” Definitely not a mattress protector, nor should you expect it to help your back problems. DO. YOUR. HOMEWORK. Everyone has different needs. Look at the info they provide, the best and worst reviews and go with what’s best for your goals. You might have to invest more money, but in the end it’ll be worth it for you. People saying this is super plush and soft; not even close!!! You owe it to yourself to invest your time, research, since most of these manufacturers have contradictions and lies in their copy. This one does. Our old mattress pad had seen better days, but was still hesitant to change it as I wasn't sure how a new one would provide the same comfort. Decided on this one (great price!), it arrived in just a few days in a small package. Turned out it was vacuum sealed (makes sense) and immediately started to fluff up when removed from the plastic cover. Put it on our bed and was very pleased with the result - just as comfortable as the old one (but new!). The only thing I would do differently would be, after opening the plastic package, to put it in a clothes dryer at a no-heat setting, just to help it expand before putting it on the bed. ... show more

Before anything, I want to say, this is not a bad mattress topper… not at all. The topper secures onto the bed and doesn’t move around at night, it arrived vacuum sealed and spotless, and the size description is correct. The small problem I have with it is that it isn’t as fluffy as shown in photos— the puffs are about 2/3 the fluffiness shown in the photo, (if that makes sense), and there isn’t really… cooling as it’s described, though you probably won’t have a problem with it if you don’t have really hot summers like mine. Overall, it’s a pretty good mattress topper, it’s like a mix between a comforter and a bed sheet, and it does make your bed more comfortable (only noticeable after a few days though, in my experience). ... show more

We got this for my parents new bed. We wanted everything to brand new for their new mattress. And based on the reviews we chose this one. It is fluffy but just not as much as the picture shows. It's also soft. I threw it into the dryer for a refresh steam cycle to sanitize and fluff it up. It didn't burn or melt but I think you will have to wash and dry on delicate. The ten minutes of steam and heat didn't kill it but just to be on safe side I wouldn't dry it on a full cycle of high heat. It fit the bed perfectly and it didn't slip off. Bought the Full size for a 3/4 mattress because I saw a few reviews saying it runs small and the topper soft part didn't really reach the sides of the mattress. It works great for a 3/4 mattress 48x75 but I would have to say I really don't think the Full size sheet Topper would be wide enough to go side to side on an actual Full Mattress that's supposed to be 54 wide. Works great for what I needed, the sheet is padded a little and if you toss it in the dryer on low to fluff it up more it looks and feels nice. Don't know how it will hold up yet just put it on a new mattress over a cover and bought clips to keep it in place on the mattress in the truck. I know people have thicker mattresses but some of these sheets are made for over a 16 inch mattress and when you only have a 10 inch mattress the sheet clips really make it stay in place and not pull up. ... show more

Thought it was a great deal after looking at the images which show nice 'loft' in each square. The unfortunate reality is it's a mattress pad and not a topper. Flat, flimsy and thin like a cheap comforter. Will never provide extra cushion. No way it has so many real 5 star reviews. **Update: the pad was intended to be used on a thin king size mattress in my travel trailer. The pad won't make any difference. The bed in my bedroom is 2 adjustable twins placed side by side to make a 'king'. I decided to fold the pad in half and put on the twin mattress. It makes a noticeable improvement in comfort. I've gotten a better quality sleep so far! bumped 3 to 4 stars for this. ***Update 8/23. They lowered the price so I bought another king size and folded it half and placed it under the mattress protector. The first one is on top of the protector. Now there's so much loft I feel like I'm almost floating! ... show more
