Heat up fast, weld very good, but too much power for me. In my opinion it is a good solder, having 5 adapters, a way to suspend it while is hot, a cover, a concentrator for heat shrink, is what I like, I use too work as Avionics, and the way to work on airplanes on the ramp is with gas solder, plus the concentrator, you got it all for repair, solder wires or terminals. The down side is the flame controller, iit is too much, and the minimum setting still too hot. That may be a matter of adjusting the position of the adjusting ring of the valve, but the screw is too tight to loose it, so I end up expanding the cutout to let the controller close the valve better. No big deal. Over all I will recommend it. ... show more

EDIT!! Stopped working the spark thingy stopped sparking, Buy a better unit. Yea it works, the gas flow is ajustable but you have to guess how much heat you need. Cheap exterior but serviceable, You know it's what I expected for the price. If you just need a quick solder now and then this will geter done! ... show more

The take reservoir is rather small. The heat output is adequate for double wall heartstrink and most soldering. All in all good for its price point.

    • Works well, need some kind of stand ,fold up or or something to set it on while working.
Does the job , good heat. No place to set it down. No stand built-in or tray to set it on Otherwise works well.

The best! I used to think weller portosol was the best but no way. Totally recommend this torch. The other brands including the expensive ones are not even close to the quality of this tool. Precision machined parts that are heavy. No junk

The heater to do heat shrink or the new types of crimp less wire connections is not strong enough to get the job done . even after I cleaned the unit completely . The one I purchased had either manufacturing debris or just junk covering the inner orifices , not allowing the heat from the gas to flow through the tips and blow tubes. ... show more

    • pay attention on how the tip of the soldering iron comes off it only goes back on one way
I liked that it came in a durable case, the soldeeing iron is made of good quality very portable just about the same size as a regular soldering iron and the kit came with different easy to change tips no dislike
