  • So far its awsome!
Color: pink
The media could not be loaded. Update: The motor started making a sound. I contacted the company and they offered to send me a new one and return the old one or send me a new motor to install. I decided on a new motor. I haven't had a chance to put the new motor in. But I am very happy with the quick response and the great customer service. And yes I would still recommend this turner. First I was really worried about the stability of the arm on this turner with out a arm support. The stability of the arm is strong and steady. Another thing I worried about was the quality of the turner for its price, as I had seen other turners around the same but seemed more cheap. This turner is well put together. Putting the turner together was very easy since it was already put together. The appearance of the turner doesn't really matter as long as it turns evenly without a lag in its turning and that it works which this turner checked both boxes. I do like the color, but as stated its appearance doesn't matter as long as it works. The only issues I found was the drying bar was inside one of the turning arm, so I thought at first they forgot to include it, since it doesn't state that in the directions The second is the drying bar comes with a hex screw which if you dont have a hex screw driver or a L wrench you kinda screwed. Third the description says that the turner turns both ways but mine doesn't. Fourth the switch tag for on and off is upside down. Fifth I'm not sure how I feel about the foam for support inside the cup. Especially since I've used foam footballs and pool noodles for the cup support, but so far they seem to be working. I did ask the two smallest foams together for a bit more support. The turner turns quietly, evenly, and at a decent speed. Not too slow or too fast. Would I recommend? Definitely. Would I buy again? Yes. ... show more

  • Awesome Ball Winder!
Color: purple
This ball winder is really awesome. It does exactly what it says it will do, and it does it very well. I have wound over 150 balls of yarn with it, and I was a little sad when I didn't have any more to make into balls (yet). The instructions recommend winding from a swift, and I don't have one, but it is absolutely not necessary. I wound balls from yarn in skeins, zipper bags, balls, and even from piles right off of the table and floor. No problems with any of them. There are two tricks to making it work with any "input." For the first trick, it helps to understand that the yarn end wraps around the spool, runs to an eyelet on the arm, loops through the tensioner, through another eyelet, and then OVER ITSELF to the source. The yarn needs to not feed from below the yarn it goes over to run smoothly; I solved this by placing input sources on a box. The second trick is to make sure the yarn isn't jumping around all over when it goes through the first eyelet and into the tension gauge. I did this by simply running it through my fingers. (The first picture shows all of this.) I chose to remove my balls onto small pieces of cardstock that I labeled with the yarn details. I did this because I will normally pull from outside of the ball, but this still leaves the inside accessible as well to center-pull. Also, I struggle with finding the relevant details on labels, and this puts it all in one place. I used 5x5" pieces of left-over scrapbooking cardstock. Picture #2 shows a bunch of my spools. While those pictured are all light weight yarns, I wound mostly worsted weight and some bulky as well. The biggest ball I ended up with was 10.9 oz, and the smallest was 0.5 oz (picture 3, both worsted weight). I didn't have 16 oz of anything right now to test the claims, but I have no doubt I could have kept right on going with big one to that amount. The rest of the pictures are to show some tips for using the ball winder. In the first (#4), I have the rolled cardstock placed on top of the spool. You can pull the ball up to the edge, and it will loosen the starter loop. Placing the roll inside the loop and then sliding the ball onto the paper works wonderfully, and even leaves a bit of loose yarn that you can pull out if you want to center-pull the yarn (but tucked in for storage otherwise). The next picture (#5) shows a starting ball. Wind the yarn 3-4 times around the spool ending in the middle of the spool. Then face the spool the way it shows, and the ball starts perfectly every single time. If want to wind multiple pieces same ball, or if you have to stop the wind, restart the ball with the spool facing the opposite direction as in the last picture (#6). If you do not face it this way, the yarn will likely slip off of the bottom of the ball and cause issues. Facing it this way will ensure smooth re-start and continuation. The last tip I have is to play with the tension gauge and set is appropriately for your yarn. The yarn needs to sit in the tensioner as shown in picture #1. If you can see the yarn on the outer edge when winding, the gauge is not right. The most common thing I had happen when the gauge was off was a second "ball" forming below the first. If the gauge is right and the yarn doesn't jump all over when being fed, a second lump never forms, and you end up with beautiful, flawless balls. I hope this helps someone. I was seriously doubting if this thing would be worth the money. In my opinion, it definitely is, and I look forward to many more yarn balls and much neater storage (and use). ... show more

  • Little loud, beautiful cakes
Color: purple
It's a little loud but so far it's made beautiful cakes! The motor makes a whining sound when I turn it on and I'm not sure if that's normal. I'm giving it 4 stars because it stops at even the slightest amount of pulling and I have to keep the yarn at the same height or it drags down the motor. I'm super happy with the results, though! Performs much better than the cheaper models sold on tiktok. ... show more

  • Works well.
Color: purple
The trick is to make sure it is threaded right. I started out slow first until I got the idea. Now once I get it going I just turn it up full blast. I do not leave it though. It's heavy where I don't have to clamp it as long as it's on a sturdy flat surface. Much faster than manual.

  • Sturdy and works great!
Color: purple
It works well with my swift. Some of the others seem to pull from underneath. Not too noisy either. It does a great job and is very sturdy. I recommend it—especially if you have arthritis!
