I inserted this product into the front opening of the fireplace and, voila, I now have an attractive very realistic visual “fire” and eliminated the pesky other fireplace problems. This product produces a very realistic “fire”, is attractive, is easy to install, and appears to be quite well constructed. It was well packaged and arrived undamaged – an important consideration because the front is all glass. The unit has a heating element, but I don’t use this feature. The remote control works well. I believe you receive value when you purchase this product. Additional note: Since purchasing this insert, I have purchased two more 36 inch models. They are simple to install and look and work great. Construction in all three is robust and the product works well. The media could not be loaded. What a lovely fireplace!! I wish it heated just a bit more, and the remote is quite sensitive, you have to point it directly at the sensor to get it to work. Other than that it is beautiful!! Nice addition to my living room. I still have to add a 3.5” fill I under it to bring it up to top of my opening. The media could not be loaded. I love this insert, the flames and colors are so realistic and look so good, I hope it can be fixed and not end up being a flame bar going out. My husband and I didn't want to use wood in two of the fireplaces. We have a woodstove for that. We hired a person to install a living room and bedroom electric inserts. We're glad we installed the fireplace inserts but I only had the Valuexhome for just over a year when the flame rod?went out. I only use the flame during the winter only at night like using a nightlight. I'll send the sound it makes but it's not all the time.
