This insert immediately made a clattering noise when I plugged it in. Repackaging and shipping it back would have been a major hassle, so I dissasembled it to investigate. There was a rotating rod that was not inserted into a bushing. It was just flopping around and bending the reflective strips that were attached. For the price of this thing I should not have had to deal with that. There's a sticker on it that says it passed inspection. Maybe the inspection needs to include plugging in the unit to see if it works. ... show more

It's great , however do not go by the rough opening size.. make it at least an inch taller ..the opening is good , however they have screws that's add another 1/4 to the overall height , had to grind my studs a little.. it is great , didn't really buy to heat my basement but it will for sure do the job! ... show more

I faced the problem of an attractive fireplace that was energy inefficient, a mess to clean, and a burden to support. Primarily, the fireplace functioned as an attractive visual centerpiece. I inserted this product into the front opening of the fireplace and, voila, I now have an attractive very realistic visual “fire” and eliminated the pesky other fireplace problems. This product produces a very realistic “fire”, is attractive, is easy to install, and appears to be quite well constructed. It was well packaged and arrived undamaged – an important consideration because the front is all glass. The unit has a heating element, but I don’t use this feature. The remote control works well. I believe you receive value when you purchase this product. Additional note: Since purchasing this insert, I have purchased two more 36 inch models. They are simple to install and look and work great. Construction in all three is robust and the product works well. Additionally, and very important, all arrived without occult damage from shipping which is testimony to packaging care. ... show more

I had a real fireplace for years and never used it. I bought this one a year ago and it stays on most days. It’s beautiful and quiet. You won’t find a better pricing neither, I saw several in person and the prices for this quality were outrageous.

I was disappointed in this elecric fireplace. Visually, the flame is very unrealistic looking, and the heat option is very loud. In addition, I received a broken brown glass bar that the plastic pebbles sit on. I didn't realize it at the time, but when you buy a product from China, when there is an issue, the customer support is in China , who is nonresponsive. Replaced my old wood burning fireplace with this modern efficient electric. The sleek design afforded me lots of additional storage. Color LED's, temp control, aux heating, log or crystal options. Only problem looks like 1 LED might be out on the blue in the middle and i had to fabricate my own trim to finish but happy with the product and price. ... show more

A very nice fireplace. Once installed, the flames did not move. Email and call to customer support yielded a call back, text with instructions, pictures as guides and a short video showing how to fix the problem. The fix worked, and the fireplace now looks wonderful. The specific problem was that the axle with reflectors had become disconnected from the motor. Easy to reconnect it and test. ... show more
