  • Martin has a winner in there DX one
I have been playing guitar professionally for almost 40 years and this is one of the best guitar purchases I’ve ever made. I’ve owned much much more expensive Martin’s and they’ve not felt or played this well. I can highly recommend this guitar to anyone. The build quality, sound and playability are altogether fabulous! ... show more

  • Great guitar even though made in Mexico.
Great Guitar. I own a Martin D 28 , bought this one because it’s electric also. I now play it more than my D 28 or Fender Telecaster.

  • Super underrated
Beautiful guitar. The case it comes in is very nice. Ready to play right out of the box. Anyway, here's Wonderwall...

  • Authentic Martin tone, weatherproof construction, perfect playability
So, I have about $10,000 worth of "real" Martins in the closet upstairs. I wanted something I could leave out next to the fireplace and the heating/AC ducts downstairs where the cats and the occasional visiting toddler like to get rambunctious. I'm very happy with this choice. It sounds very, very similar to my D-15M, which is often my favorite model to sing to and costs about three times what the DX-1 goes for. Setup is perfect. Yeah it looks like plastic, but a plastic guitar that sounds like a Martin is exactly what I wanted for $600. Highly recommended. *** I'm adding this update 9 months later. This guitar stood in a corner of my living room next to a window all winter with no humidification and its action remained perfect. It has now stood there for most of summer and still plays perfectly. The tone is ridiculously good for the money. I hope Martin sells a million of them. ... show more

  • The sound is indescribable
This is truly a beautiful guitar. I haven’t had a lot of luck with other competitors, won’t mention any names. I took a chance and ordered on line. This I a true keeper. The sound of this guy is amazing dark and deep tones, which is hard to find. Every guitar is different and has an individual tone and sound Martin did a beautiful job. Would buy this again, but I have too many guitars. ... show more

  • Amazing product for the price
This is a beautiful guitar. While it is not American made and has a laminate top and back instead of pure wood, the hardware and fret board are incredible. The sound is amazing. It is the nicest acoustic guitar anyone has ever let me play.

  • Not wood
Keep in mind the top and back are HPL, which is Formica. It's not even wood.
