  • Unbeatable in this Price Range
Style: Newporter LH Color: Candy Apple Red
I've played Taylor's for 30 years as my primary acoustic guitars. And I own 5 different models 615GA down. I also own Martin, Gibson and Epiphone acoustics as well as Yamaha and Blue Ridge. 3 Fender American Strats, 2 Fender American Tele's, a Gibson Les Paul, a PRS 10 Top, Gibson SG, so my point in listing some of my guitars is this, I own a lot. I play a lot. The Fender Newporter is not only gorgeous to look at, it sounds incredible. Whether played through an amp or just sitting and strumming in your chair. The neck is fast and smooth and plays really well. There is no fret buzz at all. It sounds amazing. The setup was perfect right out of the box. All it needed was tuning up about half a step. Comparing it with some of the guitars I mentioned it really holds its own quite well. And unless you are comparing it with a $2000.00 300 series Taylor or above, this guitar holds it's own with the Taylor GS, the 100 or 200 series guitar. And is actually easier to play and sounds better. And compared to them price wise, this is by far the best deal. The size of the guitar is also a winner, as it is about the size of the Taylor 314 Grand Concert. Which is smaller in size than the GA, or grand Auditorium. Plugged into an amp the guitar really shines. The onboard electronics allow you to shape the sound to adjust the highs lows and mids. Plus the onboard tuner is very accurate. I would recommend this guitar to anyone. A beginner or pro. If there was one thing to say about this guitar I didn't like it would be the inline tuners typically used on older or cheaper model guitars. But they work well and keep the guitar in tune. Unfortunately the Left Handed only come in Black or Metallic Red for us left handers, that I've found. But for $429.00 they are worth every penny. Spend another 100 bucks and get a good case. Well done Fender. Although these are part of the California Series of guitars, they are made in Indonesia. But don't let that scare you off. Great guitar. And I will add a thank you to Amazon for carrying these left handed as well. Great job in getting it here. Packed and overpacked. ... show more

  • Great value and quality 6 string electric/acoustic
Style: Redondo LH Color: Jetty Black
Got a fantastic Amazon sale price on this left handed acoustic. Love the look with the Fender headstock style. Very easy playability and action. It is a bit smaller & slimmer then my Alvarez dreadnought. On board electronics include a tuner which is a real nice to have.

  • Amazing, I love it.
Style: Malibu Color: Midnight Satin
I bought this guitar in January of this year, I believe. I've been playing it nearly every day since I bought it, so it's been about 2 months. I have to say, I absolutely love it. I have never owned an acoustic guitar or a guitar in general, but I absolutely LOVE this one. I paid a pretty penny for it and I have no regrets. Since it's dark colored, I can see some fingerprints on it, but it's nothing a rag can't fix. I'm someone who doesn't like country music and likes lot of Japanese Pop Rock, some indie music, stuff like that. I like more modern things. That being said, that also goes for what color guitars I like and look out for. I don't like the classic guitar look. I don't like the tan, I don't like any orange, I don't like the worn-out look. However, these guitars really caught my eye. I was originally going to buy the silverish one, as I'd had the guitar in my cart for a long time and had decided upon it. But at the very last second as I was about to buy it, the dark guitar caught my eye. So I read reviews and after realizing that this one was probably the better choice, I bought it. So far, I have zero regrets. It sounds amazing, good quality control, showed up at my doorstep in great condition. My only complaint with Fender is that it says on the box exactly what it is. The Fender logo was pasted on it. So if, say, someone wanted to steal it, it would probably be an easy feat. I would just make sure to get it delivered somewhere inconspicuous. Inside your garage or house would be ideal. On Fender's part, they could avoid this hassle altogether by removing their logos from the box. But, all in all, thanks for the guitar! It's very sturdy, and my arm doesn't get tired at all after playing it for about 3 hours every day. I love this guitar. (Side note that I'm adding in at the last second, yes it has a built-in preamp and tuner. Mine came with a battery, at the bottom of the guitar, which was very convenient for tuning. I've never used an acoustic amp, so I can't speak on how it sounds with the preamp, but I can say that the buttons are very high quality, almost velvety.) ... show more

  • Solid guitar for the price
Style: Redondo Color: Belmont Blue
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. To me, the sound is clear and bright. Its also balanced and projects very well. Unplugged, it is about as good as anything else in its price range; just maybe lacking a little warmth (compared to something costing twice as much). It really shines, however, with amplification. sounding very good with both picking and finger style playing. The electronics are simple and effective. Playability is also very good. With the included strings, the action is medium/light. The neck is slim and fast; it looks and plays very much like a Strat. I can play some barre chords on it that I cannot on other steel string acoustics. There's a little bit of fret buzz at the bottom of the neck, but I rarely play down there anyway. Craftsmanship is good on mine with no obvious flaws. The front is solid wood, but the sides are laminate (as you would expect at this price point). The painted finish looks unique and stunning to me. In summary, I'd recommend the Rondo player as a solid buy for $400. It's well built, very playable, and clear sounding. It would probably be most appealing to someone who favors a Fender style neck and plays a lot with amplification. ... show more

  • Great sound. Well made.
Style: Redondo Color: Slate Satin
I like the looks and the sound. The Fishman onboard electronics are nice. Several reviews that I read stated the frets were not filed at the edges of the neck but I am not finding that. It has a nice clean but rich sound and the onboard tuner is accurate and bypasses the output when engaged. I did replace the original strings with a lighter gauge for playability. The resulting sound may be a tiny bit thinner acoustically but when amplified, I just add a little to the lower end. Great guitar, especially for the price. ... show more
