Features

  • PROFESSIONAL GUITAR STRINGS: Discover your guitars true voice. These strings are designed with higher tensile strength and tin-plated core wire to enable a full and balanced tone, a quicker response, and an increased tuning stability. Theyre available in extra light, custom light, light, and medium gauges.
  • HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN: Made from 92/8 phosphor bronze, these acoustic strings feature top-quality bronzed-steel core wire and bronze wrap wire. They provide a well-rounded sound that is clean and balanced, making them suitable for a wide variety of music styles.
  • SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE: Best for rigorous practice and performance, our phosphor bronze strings can be used for fingerpicking and flat-picking. If you have finger fatigue after playing or wish bending notes was easier, try a lighter string gauge.
  • VERSATILE STRINGS: String gauge is an important part of getting the best sound out of your guitar. We recommend using only our extra-light through medium-gauge strings on our guitars. Medium-gauge strings deliver more volume and are perfect for larger-bodied guitars.
  • THE TONE YOU DESERVE: For every handmade element we craft, we never forget why we do it: to help you set your creativity free. Youll find a wide range of Martin strings that fit your instrument and playing style. Enjoy incredible tone, no matter what you play.

  • Martin acoustic strings are the best!
Size: Light
Been using Martin strings on my acoustic guitars for eons...they sound beautiful, last like nothing else, and feel great under my fingers. Only thing that mildly bummed me out is that the unwound strings are silver... I'm used to the SPs being gold colored. I know, that's a silly thing to complain about! ... show more

  • Martin-Branded Strings Sound Great On My Custom X Series Guitar
Size: Light
The media could not be loaded. I've been using another brand of strings on my Custom X Series Martin Guitar for a while so I wanted to see what the Martin-branded strings sounded like in comparison. Decided to try the light gauge MA540 Phosphor Bronze since I play regularly at church and practice around the house quite a bit. Strings went on really well and, after tuning and stretching, they had a nice full sound to them. At first, I didn't think they were as bright as I wanted them to be but, after playing for a while, I was really impressed with how they held up and sounded. The day after I put them on, they stayed in tune fairly well ... I had to make some small adjustments but nothing major. Also, when I put my capo on, I didn't have to adjust the tuning too much either. The other brand of strings I use have a rewards program which is a nice incentive. If Martin instituted something similar, I would use these strings exclusively. As far as the sound, tone, and price, I have no complaints. ... show more

  • Love the strings
Size: Medium
I put these ones on my Oscar Schmidt acoustic electric guitar, and they sound awesome! Very good price also I was really surprised I was able to get Martin at a price lower than $10 thank you for the company who offers this product through Amazon. I will be getting more strings a lot of my guitars got ruined in a fire mostly from the firefighters in the water but thank God I put my Brazilian guyanini and my Martin sigma established 1970 guitar was in a heavy case and then we have bass guitars they didn't get ruined thank God so I'll be getting strings for them too and also I have a Yamaha 12 string which I already have strings for and I didn't put them on but it got ruined in the back from the water cuz it wasn't in a case but anyway you don't even know everything I guess but I just want to let you know these things are awesome I think I'm going to get something a little heavier for any other guitar but that's right I forgot two of them were stolen and one of our bass guitars and it was worth over $1,000. It was a hollow body ovation from the 1960s in the other one was the 12th string Wilson with pearl inlays. I wish I still had them so I can't buy the strings from this company. Thank you for this again I think I'm depressed sorry I'm writing too much but I love you these strings and I love my guitar but I love God more than anything ... show more

  • Rich, resonant sound
Size: Medium
I bought these based mainly on brand recognition, and they do the name justice. They're extremely well made with no winding gaps. The sound is rich and can be extremely loud. They were easy to install and maintain the tension well. They're comfortable to play and easy to use on the fret board.

  • I can't exactly see what i'm reviewing...
Size: Light
I've bought a ton of Martin strings over the last five years... Most of the time I just buy them direct from Martin or from websites which offer bundle deals (that shall remain nameless for the purposes of this review). The icon that evidences my purchasing of strings through Amazon is soo small, I can't tell what product I'm actually reviewing. I keep a stock of 3-5 each of Light, Custom-Light and Extra-Light in Marquis in my workshop. Additionally, I quite love the various "vintage" (or is it "retro") strings Martin makes. I've strung the Monel ones on resonator guitars and they sound fantastic. I also quite like (like maybe my favorite product Martin makes) 'Silk and Steel' strings. I do not play with a thumbpick and so my thumb seems to appreciate my switching to these strings on my own Art & Lutherie. As they are fairly low tension, they are a perfect string for young hands as well.. So, I guess what I'm saying is that any of these products I would give five stars... Having switched from D'addario about 10 years ago, I've really never looked back. If I'm stringing a metal stringed acoustic guitar, I'm stringing it with Martin strings.. ... show more
