Features

  • PROFESSIONAL GUITAR STRINGS: Discover your guitars true voice. These strings are designed with higher tensile strength and tin-plated core wire to enable a full and balanced tone, a quicker response, and an increased tuning stability. Theyre available in extra light, custom light, light, and medium gauges.
  • HIGH-QUALITY DESIGN: Made from 80/20 bronze, these acoustic strings feature top-quality bronzed-steel core wire and bronze wrap wire. At first, the sound is a bright, punchy attack. It quickly mellows out as you play, making this pack ideal for bluegrass players.
  • SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE: Best for rigorous practice and performance, our acoustic guitar strings can be used for fingerpicking and flat-picking. If you have finger fatigue after playing or wish bending notes was easier, try a lighter string gauge.
  • VERSATILE STRINGS: String gauge is an important part of getting the best sound out of your guitar. We recommend using only our extra-light through medium-gauge strings on our guitars. Medium-gauge strings deliver more volume and are perfect for larger-bodied guitars.
  • THE TONE YOU DESERVE: For every handmade element we craft, we never forget why we do it: to help you set your creativity free. Youll find a wide range of Martin strings that fit your instrument and playing style. Enjoy incredible tone, no matter what you play.

  • Wonderful tone
Size: Custom Light 11-52, 80/20, HT Bronze
Well it was kinda an emergency when I bought these, had a gig on Friday night, it was Wednesday night I was going through our song list and tuning up, then twang there went the g string. Order another set right away as I knew I wouldn't have time to swung by a local store. Anyways, different than I usually go with, a little brighter than I thought but hold a good sustain, and sound great when I'm playing. Good bang for your buck. Will buy again. ... show more

  • Great tone on Little Martin
Size: Medium 13-56, 80/20, HT Bronze
The search for the perfect strings for my Little Martin LX1 led me to the Martin Authentic Acoustic Guitar Strings - Superior Performance Medium, and I'm thrilled to say they have exceeded my expectations in every way. The medium gauge strikes a perfect balance on the Little Martin, delivering a full-bodied sound that is surprisingly warm for a travel-size guitar. Whether strumming or fingerpicking, these strings consistently provide a tonal depth that complements the LX1's smaller body exceptionally well. These strings offer a remarkable blend of playability and longevity. From the first strum, I noticed an improvement in both volume and sustain. The strings respond beautifully to subtle nuances in playing, making the Little Martin LX1 feel like a much larger instrument. Even after hours of play, the strings maintain their responsiveness and tone, a testament to their durability and consistent performance. For those who own travel-size guitars like the Little Martin LX1, these strings are a perfect match. They enhance the natural characteristics of the smaller body, providing a warm and resonant sound that defies the guitar's compact size. Whether you're strumming by the campfire or playing in a more intimate setting, the Martin Authentic Acoustic Strings bring out the best in the Little Martin. ... show more

  • Very balanced, mellow strings, but not too dull.
Size: Bluegrass 12-56, 80/20, HT Bronze
I bought the 12's, bluegrass series, looking for a set of strings to serve as bluegrass strings. As far as what Martin claims, I think they're an honest pack of strings. One claim of theirs is staying in tune. Here I think they are superb. The strings seem to have an amazing relation to one another and they not only stay in tune, but they tune up very nicely. The octaves sound good together. Initially, I thought they seemed dull compared to other strings, but then I kind of preferred that they werent too loud or piercing. Other strings sound too bright at first sometimes, such that you want to break them in or get them dirty, even. These actually sound very balanced out of the pack. One might wish for a tad bit more oomph to them, but at least it is not overdone. They ebb on the smooth side, which sounds good. I think they would be very good as bluegrass rhythm strings, or even for the general strummer and songwriter. Their mellow, even tone gives a sort of natural compression to the strings which makes each string very smooth when formed into a chord. Everything sounds very coherent and together. The high strings aren't too snappy or loud and this makes for very nice chord tone. Since guitar is very much so a rhythm instrument in bluegrass, this would make them very appropriate strings for the style they claim to cater to. I also think, as Martin claims on the pack, that the playability of the strings is great. They're very easy to depress on the fret. They feel nice. No weird coating or nothing. The only negative I would give them is an unfair one, since these are intended as bluegrass strings: I dont think they're the best for single-note, blues style guitar. Here, the strings sound a little weak, and D'Addarios would probably serve the acoustic blues player better. They dont really have enough focus and volume as single strings and make them come up a little short if one will be playing single note styles outside of bluegrass flatpicking. However, they do bend quite good. I just think the tone is a tad weak for single note blues. Again, they really shine when playing chords. But not all is lost on single note stuff. Bluegrass guitar after all has incorporated lead breaks for over a half a century now, and the strings are well suited for flatpicking and bouncing around the fret board. They have a nice flexibility that allows them to be fretted quite easily. For the bluegrass style, the strings sound fine as single notes. The tone for fingerstyle grew on me. At first I thought it seemed weak. I usually like a lot of bright volume for my finger picking chords. These were at least different in that regard. But then it seemed quite even once again. No higher strings popped too loud and the lows weren't out of place or separate from the rest of the strings. We'll see how long they last. These are first impressions. ... show more
