Update: These pillows are over hyped and over priced. They don't stay cool in the winter so when we get into the heat and humidity they'll be useless after 2 seconds. No mm matter how you adjust they're uncomfortable and after 4 days my neck and shoulders were screaming in pain. They're thrown in the floor at night. Update 1:After on night here are my observations. (1) When you first lay in the pillow it's cool but it doesn't last, I wound up frequently changing positions & flipping the pillow.It may not get as hot as others but the real test will be summer. (2) Unzipping and adjusting the pillow just makes it thinner, flatter and less firm. Disappointed. (3) I threw it to the side while sleeping on my back & wasn't even aware I had done so until morning. It's not comfortable when I'm on my side or Ive not found a good position and fit. At this time I'm not lowering my rating but I may when I update after a week. At this time I'm disappointed in these overpriced pillows. I was thinking of purchasing expensive sheets with "NASA technology" that like these pillows will keep you from getting hot, but since so many people lie, are paid with free merch or otherwise in reviews I'm leery. Original: These are packaged well, inside the large box for shipping each pillow is in it's own individual box wrapped in plastic. There's no unpleasant odor & the rise immediately then you fluff. One pillow is noticably softer (without any adjustments) than the other, again no problem because I read a lot in bed so this will come in handy. They are very cool when you first lay on them but it decreases after a few moments, still cool just not as much. I purchased them because I was always waking up at night to find a cooler spot on the pillow, I was even doing this while reading. It will be interesting to see how these pillows cool in the hot, humid weather of the southeast. I have herniated discs in my cervical and lumbar spine and I'm hoping being able to adjust these will help alleviate the pain. Previously if I was sleeping on my back I threw the pillow to the side because sleeping on one aggravated my neck pain and caused my shoulder and arms to hurt. I haven't adjusted them so I can't weigh in on that feature. I will update in once in the summer to let you know how they've held up and how they cool.

I usually won’t buy pillows that I haven’t seen in person because I’m extremely particular about the firmness. These have two zippers on either side that allow you to go from a soft but supportive pillow (unzipped) to a medium pillow (one zipper) or firm (zipper). This is huge for me as a side sleeper. I’ve had a hard time finding pillows that were firm, but didn’t prop my neck up at a weird angle. These did the trick, and they’re cooling pillows as well. Great purchase.

I like to sleep on the side and sometimes on my back. This pillow is firm and perfect for my jeans neck and back. I haven’t noticed the pillow getting uncomfortably warm. So it does stay cool as advertised. Haven’t tested it yet long term but so far it’s a huge difference from my other pillows
