There are probably better pencils out there, but as a beginner, these were fine. Lost a star because one or two of them had a flaw in the center of the graphite that made them draw double lines. I felt like that was a QA issue.

For the price point, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from these sketching pencils… but they turned out to be surprisingly good! One of the first things I noticed was the sound they make while sketching and shading. The subtle scratchiness when the graphite meets the paper is oddly soothing to me. It might not be for everyone, but personally, I enjoy it. I’ve been using this set for at-home practice sketches, and they’ve held up very well. The lead is strong, with no breakage so far, even when using an electric sharpener. They sharpen cleanly without wasting much wood and it’s easy to achieve a fine point. Aesthetically, the pencils look sleek and professional with their matte black finish and gold lettering. The set includes 14 pencils ranging from 4H to 12B, offering an excellent variety from light to dark values. I also appreciate that the grade is printed twice near the top which makes grabbing the right pencil quick and effortless.
